MTNW Installs Anchor Winch Monitor for KHAN Offshore

Measurement Technology Northwest (MTNW) announced successful Anchor Winch Tension Monitoring system installation and commissioning on the KH-A1 Accommodation Crane Barge. KH-A1 is owned and operated by KHAN Offshore, an engineering, construction and service company based in Geoje, Korea in partnership with Prime Sources Limited, based in Lagos, Nigeria. This vessel currently supports Chevron Nigeria Limited’s operations. The project called for eight RL-20 running line tensiometers, and four dual winch displays, to monitor the anchor winch lines.

MTNW Receives NSF Award to Retrofit Coast Guard Icebreakers

Seattle - Measurement Technology NW (MTNW) has announced an award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to upgrade winch monitoring technology for the Coast Guard Icebreakers Healy and Polar Sea. This award brings new MTNW hardware and software technology to the support of winch operations, which are mission critical to these Arctic research vessels. NSF and the Coast Guard are working with MTNW because the Line Control Instruments’ (LCI) monitoring and control system provides advanced technology for on-deck safety, reliability, and research accuracy.

MTNW Completes Anchor Winch Monitoring Project in Nigeria for Adamac

March 16, 2011. Seattle, WA. Measurement Technology NorthWest (MTNW) announces major award from Adamac, a leading Nigerian Oil & Gas Services Company based in Port Harcourt. The project called for 9 running line tensiometers, displays, and software to monitor the anchor winch lines for a pipe-laying barge. “The Gulf of Guinea off of Nigeria is one of the fastest growing new oil patches. It is becoming as criss-crossed with sub-sea pipes as any ocean in the world,” explained Tom Rezanka, Managing Director of MTNW.
