Kongsberg Sensors and Equipment for Germany's New Ocean Research Vessel

Norwegian marine equipment and technology firm Kongsberg will provide scientific sensors and scientific handling equipment for Germany’s new ocean research vessel, the 135-metre Meteor IV. The new 10,000GT vessel will be able to house 35 scientists plus 36 crew. Meteor IV will be built by MeyerFassmer Spezialschiffbau (MFSB) for the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Markey Machine Acquires JonRie InterTech

Seattle based deck machinery company Markey Machine announced it has acquired New Jersey headquartered competitor JonRie InterTech.The two companies design, manufacture and provide support for custom-designed winches and other deck equipment systems for the maritime and offshore sectors. According to Markey Machine, the acquisition will allow it to expand its product offerings, strengthen its technical capabilities and enhance its market presence."We are excited to welcome JonRie InterTech to the Markey Machine family," said Blaine Dempke, CEO of Markey Machine.

MacGregor to Deliver Traction Winch Systems for Chinese Geological Survey Drilling Vessel

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has been selected to supply two self-contained traction winch systems for a geological survey drilling vessel in China.The vessel is owned by Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey (GMGS), a subsidiary of China’s Ministry of Natural Resources, together with HongHai Marine. HongHai Marine is MacGregor's partner in China, focusing on MacGregor deck machinery integration and service in the fishery and oceanographic markets.The order was booked into Cargotec’s 2022 second quarter order intake.

MacGregor Wins Order for 36 Traction Winch Systems

Royal Research Ships in Hutchison Ports Harwich International

Rapp Marine to Equip New OSU Research Vessel

Rapp Marine said it has been selected by Gulf Island Shipyard, LLC, as the Overboard Handling System Single Source Vendor (OHS SSV) for Oregon State University’s (OSU) 193 ft x 41 ft multi-mission Regional Class Research Vessel (RCRV), with the option of two additional vessels. Funding for the RCRV project is provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the contract design of the RCRV was developed by Glosten. Kongsberg Integrated Vessel Concept for Trawler Newbuild

Kongsberg has signed a contract with maritime technology company Havyard Ship Technology for the delivery of a complete Fishmaster Integrated Vessel Concept for a newbuild pelagic trawler. The vessel is a collaborative effort between Havyard Ship Technology and the Paris based fishing company France Pélagique. The vessel is developed in close cooperation with Dutch ship designer ASD, and will represent the latest technology for sustainable fishing and efficient processing of pelagic species such as herring, mackerel and blue whiting.

Eastern Delivers Factory Trawler to O’Hara

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. delivered the DNV classed factory processor fishing trawler F/T Araho (Hull 175) on January 28, 2017 to the O’Hara Corporation of Rockland, Maine. She is the first U.S. flag freezer processor factory trawler constructed in over 25 years. The F/T Araho will be in service in the waters of Alaska. The O’Hara family and Eastern Shipbuilding are no strangers to each other. The F/T Araho is the sixth fishing vessel Eastern has built for the O’Hara family over the last 20 years. This factory processor fishing trawler is far more sophisticated than the prior five vessels. The O’Hara and D’Isernia families go back to the early 1990s with the F/V Enterprise a Catcher Processor Conversion delivered in 1996.

First TTS Shipset Delivered to COSCO Shanghai Shipyard

TTS Group announced the delivery of the first of four shipset of TTS deck equipment to COSCO Shanghai Shipyard. In April 2015, Shanghai Shipyard Co. Ltd., part of the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), ordered various TTS deck equipment for four 28.000 DWT Multipurpose Heavy Lift Vessels. The first official hand over took place this week end. The vessels are part of the ongoing fleet extension program of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO). COSCO already operates eight identically constructed vessels (Da Type 3) with a maximum lifting capacity of 700t in tandem operation – the largest cranes in the fleet, all made by TTS NMF. Each ship is equipped with two heavy lift cranes of proven TTS NMF type DK II with SWL 350t and one TTS NMF type DK II SWL 100t lifting capacity.

ZPMC Orders Romica Equipment for DSV

This will support the overboard deployment and recovery of diver tools supporting subsea work. Rapp Hydema has been supplying deck machinery to research vessels since 1977, but this global market recently became especially significant for the group. In 2002, in what would be a watershed project, Rapp Hydema was chosen to outfit the NOAA Fishery Survey Vessel (FSV) Oscar Dyson class of vessels. Polarcus Innovation in Seismic Vessel Design

Polarcus Limited received its eighth 3D seismic vessel on 21 June 2012 when Polarcus Adira was delivered at Ulstein Verft in Norway. The vessel is the second of two 12-14 streamer Arctic 3D seismic vessels built at the yard, and is the eighth vessel in the Polarcus fleet of the Ulstein SX134 design.
