TASI Acquires SignalFire Telemetry

TASI HOLDINGS INC. announced today it has completed the acquisition of all shares of SignalFire Telemetry, located in Hudson, Massachusetts. This new acquisition is strategic to the growth model of TASI, and adds an exciting new wireless communication component to TASI’s Founded in 2006, SignalFire designs and manufactures specialized wireless mesh networking systems for uses in challenging and hazardous locations. The majority of the company’s products are wireless sensor networks deployed in upstream oil and gas fields. “We are pleased to welcome the SignalFire team to the TASI Group and the TASI Flow Division,” said John McKenna, CEO of the TASI Group. “We are very pleased to be part of the TASI family,” stated Al Hamilton, SignalFire’s President.

Alewijnse Marine Systems has been awarded the contract for the supply and installation of the complete electrical outfitting on board a new 280-ft motoryacht. EF Johnson $1.1m Order From U.S. DOD

EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:EFJI) announced that it has received an order from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for $1.1m to provide a maritime wireless solution for the customer. EF Johnson Technologies $1m Task Order

EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:EFJI) announced that its 3e Technologies subsidiary has received a $1m task order against a contract from a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) customer. The company announced the $14.9m contract in January. USN Deploys Wireless Gateways From 3e Technologies

3e Technologies International Inc. (3eTI announced that the U.S. Navy has deployed its 3e-520N Wireless Gateway on USS HOWARD to improve productivity and operating efficiencies. USS HOWARD (DDG-83), an Arleigh Burke-class Destroyer, has implemented a ship-wide wireless network using forty 3e-520N Wireless Gateways, allowing personnel to use wireless devices to access crucial network resources and conduct video applications. This Gateway is powered by National Semiconductor's (NYSE:NSM) Geode(TM) solution to achieve high performance and expandability. "It is becoming increasingly important, during day-to-day operations, to reach the last 100 ft. onboard ship with key technical resources.

Underwater Port Security

The Coast Guard's newest wave of anti-terrorism tool is being unleashed on ports nationwide. The Underwater Port Security System (UPSS) can detect, track, classify and interdict intruders, and allows for the inspection of hulls and pier structures or anything that is underwater without an invitation. It adds an additional layer of protection to our ports, and is available in the U.S. anywhere and anytime. It can hear, see and talk underwater and it's compact enough fit in a large suitcase. "Terrorists are always looking for ways to attack elements of our infrastructure critical to our economy and our freedom," said Coast Guard Pacific Area Commander, Vice Adm. Harvey Johnson during a recent demonstration of the system in San Pedro, Calif.

Smiths Detection Enhances Rhode Island Port Security

Smiths Detection-LiveWave has been awarded a contract to engineer and deploy a prototype security solution for the Rhode Island Port Security Wireless Communications Network (RIPSWCN). As part of a one-year pilot program, the system will interconnect with land-based communications networks to allow government agencies and emergency personnel to share and distribute real-time data throughout Narragansett Bay. A collaborative project of the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (EMA), Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC), the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM), the Rhode Island Department of Administration (DOA), the RIPSWCN partnership was created as a demonstration project funded by an $856,000 grant from the U.S.
