Louis Dreyfus Opts for eSAILs on Juice Ship

bound4blue and Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) announced today a commercial agreement for the manufacture and installation of four eSAILs on LDC’s chartered juice vessel, MV Atlantic Orchard, in collaboration with Wisby Tankers AB, Sweden (Wisby Tankers).Chartered by LDC and owned by Wisby Tankers, MV Atlantic Orchard will be retrofitted with four 26-meter-high eSAILs. Croatia Shipyard Uljanik Launches Ferry, Tank Barges

The 100m long RoRo ferry was launched for the Croatian national shipping company Jadrolinija as the second of a series of 4 such vessels, and the two river barges for Sweden's Wisby Tankers AB. The ferries are designed for two-way direct sailing for the transportation of 600 passengers in summer months or 320 passengers in the winter period in the closed lounge. Synapsis receives first INS Type Approval

Synapsis Bridge Control is Raytheon Anschütz’ new generation Integrated Navigation System.

Synapsis Bridge Control, the new generation of the Raytheon Anschütz bridge system, is the world’s first navigation system which has been type approved according to IMO’s new Performance Standards for Integrated Navigation Systems (INS). In an official ceremony, the nominated body Germanischer Lloyd (GL) handed over the type approval to Raytheon Anschütz beginning of May 2012. The INS Performance Standards are specified in the IMO resolution MSC.252(83) and apply to all newbuildings since 1st January 2011 where Integrated Navigation Systems are installed.
