TT Line Circles Back to Rauma Shipyard for RoPax Pair

Finnish shipbuilder Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) said on Wednesday that it has secured an order from Australian shipping company TT Line Company to build two car and passenger ferries at the Rauma shipyard.The newbuild order comes after TT Line, also known as Spirit of Tasmania, withdrew from a previous memorandum of understanding (MOU) last July while the Tasmanian government-owned company investigated options to produce the vessels locally to help offset economic impacts from the coronavirus pandemic.RMC revealed Wednesday that negotiations resumed in March this year…

Qatar's Milaha to Upgrade Shipyard in Mesaieed

ARI Deliver India Offshore Vessel Bridge Simulators

ARI Simulation has delivered a complete suite of integrated offshore simulators to the NUSI Offshore Training Institute (NOTI) in Mumbai, India. The NOTI facility has been created by the National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI) to support competence development in offshore shipping among its members, promoting best practice as they progress up the chain of command in this vital, fast-growing sector. ARI Simulation was given a brief to achieve several offshore sector firsts for NOTI.

Aveva Launches New Software

On May 10, 2012 AVEVA (LSE:AVV) announced the release of an exciting new software product family for the marine and EPC market, AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management. Rolls-Royce, Great Lakes Shipyard Sign Services Agreement

Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine Inc. has teamed up with Great Lakes Shipyard, a division of The Great Lakes Towing Company, Cleveland, OH to create a state-of-the-art marine service center to improve and grow their respective vessel repair and overhaul businesses in the Great Lakes Region. The long-term agreement, effective June 1, 2011 is the latest stage in the development of a global Marine Service Center network, which brings the expertise of Rolls-Royce engineers to customers around the world. Offshore Systems International Awarded Contract

John Jacobson, president and CEO of Offshore Systems International Ltd. announced the award of a $700,000 contract to deliver a radar display and tracking system to the Canadian Coast Guard for the new Marine Communication and Traffic Services Centre in Vancouver. This system will consist of three Offshore Systems radar displays and radar data processors, communications equipment, precise network timeserver and a full complement of spare equipment to provide a world-class solution for the Canadian Coast Guard. Offshore will provide project management, software engineering, systems engineering, documentation, integration, quality assurance, commissioning and training services.
