Yanmar America Hires Micu

Yanmar America said it has hired Carl J. Micu as division manager of power solutions. He will oversee all engine sales and be responsible for the strategic development of long-term sales growth plans and annual sales targets related to industrial engines, commercial and large marine engines in the Americas.Prior to Yanmar, Micu served 15 years in various roles at John Deere Power Systems. His most recent role was manager, OEM engine sales, Americas and OEM drivetrain sales global.Micu holds an International MBA from the Universitäte Bern Institute für Finanzmanagement in Switzerland…

YANMAR America’s Commercial Marine Division Adds Three Repower Centers

YANMAR America’s Commercial Marine Division has announce the addition of three new Repower Centers to its distribution network: Kennedy Engine in Biloxi, Mississippi; Sun Power Diesel in Dania Beach, FL and Todomar in Colombia.“YANMAR is looking to add local market experts to our distribution network. Kennedy Engine, Sun Power and Todomar are a good match due to their regional knowledge of applications and customers in terms of needs and expectations,” commented Terry Wallace, Division Manager for YANMAR America Commercial Marine.Kennedy Engine has a history as long as YANMAR’s dating back to 1912 when William Patrick Kennedy introduced the otter trawl and gasoline-powered Lugger to the seafood industry in Biloxi, Mississippi.

YANMAR Marine International (YMI), supplier of engines and technology-driven marine propulsion systems to the leisure and light duty commercial markets, has announced key appointments.Following his work in various senior managerial positions in the company, Teruyuki Yamaoka is named the new Vice President YMI, while Floris Lettinga is promoted to Director Sales and Marketing to extend his 15 years within the marine department at YANMAR.Yamaoka brings extensive experience in production management and quality assurance, corporate brand building, strategic operations and planning to YMI.

YANMAR Cruises Into Alaska with Power to Spare

YANMAR only recently arrived in the Pacific Northwest with its mechanical 6AYAM-ET diesel engine. It looks like they are here to stay. In November of last year, YANMAR America and its guests officially opened the YANMAR EVO//CENTER in Acworth, Ga. Situated on 50-plus acres of land in Cherokee County, the new 50,000 square foot facility features six state-of-the-art product training labs with classroom and hands-on space, three classrooms, multiple meeting rooms, office space, a 250-seat auditorium, and myriad other amenities and features. The event was probably the most recent, visible manifestation of YANMAR’s steady march into the North American markets.

YANMAR America has announced the launch of the YANMAR//ACADEMY and POWER//TRAIN following the recent opening of the EVO//CENTER, YANMAR America’s training and customer experience center headquartered in Acworth, Ga. YANMAR EVO//CENTER Opens in Georgia

National, state and local officials joined together with YANMAR America and its honored guests to officially open the YANMAR EVO//CENTER located at the corner of Highway 92 and Old Alabama Road in Acworth, Georgia. YANMAR America’s Commercial Marine Division has made three new additions to its distribution network, Mack Boring & Parts Co., W.W. Williams and Antilles Power. Established in the 1920s, Mack Boring & Parts Co. is one of America’s leading distributors of marine diesel engines, including YANMAR’s pleasure marine product lines. Wallace Named Commercial Sales Manager, YANMAR America

YANMAR America has promoted Terry Wallace from his current role as Regional Sales Manager for the Industrial Engine Division to Sales Manager for the Commercial Marine Division reporting to Yutaka Tanno, Commercial Marine Product Manager, effective January 3, 2017. In his new role, Wallace will be responsible for developing and achieving the commercial marine sales performance goals and objectives by continuously driving sales growth through all channels, creating and implementing effective sales programs and working collaboratively with other staff members to achieve performance objectives.

Engine Providers Power Operators' Profits

Yanmar Names US/Canada West Coast Distributor

Valley Power Systems has entered into a distributor agreement with Yanmar America Corporation for the sale and service of Yanmar’s commercial marine diesel engine line throughout the states of California, Oregon, Washington and Alaska, as well as the Canadian province of British Columbia. In business for over 65 years, Valley Power Systems provides power and propulsion products for the commercial and pleasure craft marine industries from manufacturers such as MTU, Electro-Motive (EMD), Scania, Northern Lights, Technicold and now Yanmar Commercial Marine.

Rated at 755 mHP and 1,900 RPM, the new 20.38-liter 6AYAM-ET uses a fully mechanical control system for easy servicing and reliable performance, the manufacturer said. The class-approved four-cycle, in-line six-cylinder 6AYAM-ET offers low fuel consumption and a continuous rating suitable for river push boats, tugboats, trawlers and other applications with uninterrupted operations or load cycles.

Yanmar America Corporation of Adairsville, Georgia, has introduced a range of propulsion and auxiliary power High-Speed Commercial Workboat diesel engines. Offered in models from 350 to 1,800 hp (257 to 1340 kW), these powerplants open new commercial business opportunities throughout North and South America.
