Laborde Supplies Yanmars to Power Boats for Export

Laborde Supplies engines for crewboats

Laborde now has the ability to supply builders on the US Gulf Coast with the complete line of Yanmar 360-1,822 hp commercial engines for export. Laborde recently supplied six Yanmar 6CX-GTYE engines to Neuville Boat Works for crewboats headed for Trinidad. Inland and Offshore Contractors Ltd., a diversified transportation company serving the petroleum industry, will take delivery of three 47' boats to carry crew and cargo to offshore installations. The fully mechanical Yanmars were chosen for their reliability and durability and because they can be easily serviced in the West Indies.

The innocent-looking water taxis at Universal Orlando Resort are actually hard-working craft hiding behind their pretty wood finishes, running all day, every day of the year. Nearly constant use has been no problem for the Yanmar 4JH5E diesels powering four of the taxis, two of which have logged more than 12,000 hours each. A new boat using the dependable Yanmar 54 hp engine is also under construction, all supplied by Mastry Engine Center. The free taxis run between Universal City Walk and the onsite Royal Pacific Resort, Hard Rock Hotel and Portofino Bay Hotel.

RIB DIRECTORY

VT Halmatic has delivered an Arctic 24 rigid inflatable boat (RIB) to the island of Tristan da Cunha. Located in the South Atlantic, approximately 1,740 miles west of Cape Town, Tristan da Cunha is acknowledged as the world's most remote inhabited island. The island supports a thriving community concentrating on fishing and agriculture and the new RIB joins an existing VT Halmatic Pacific 38 RIB. The new Arctic 24 will be used as an additional fisheries patrol boat and fast rescue craft as well as search and rescue and policing duties. Based on a deep V hull form, the Arctic 24 is known as an off-shore RIB that is available in the market place and is capable of operating in the extreme sea states found around the island.
