Incat Crowther to Design 60-Meter FSIVs

Incat Crowther has been commissioned by Singaporean shipbuilder Lita Ocean to design three new ABS-Classed monohull fast support intervention vessels (FSIVs) for Zamil Offshore. The new 60-metre FSIVs will assist Zamil Offshore with the efficient and safe transport of cargo, heavy maintenance equipment and personnel for Saudi Aramco’s operations in the Middle East. Inmarsat to Roll Out IoT Solution to More than 60 Zamil Offshore Vessels

Inmarsat, a mobile satellite communications services provider, will roll out an Internet-of-Things (IoT) solution to more than 60 of Saudi-based Zamil Offshore's vessels in the Gulf area.The solution - powered by Fleet Connect and Fleet Data delivered through Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress - will allow Zamil to identify, trial and select the best solutions to meet vessel performance expectations set by its charterer, Saudi Aramco. The news of the deal between Inmarsat and Zamil Offshore follows a successful trial on the fleet’s anchor tug, Zamil 57.

Saudi Arabia: IMI, Zamil in Offshore Support Vessel JV

ASRY Repairs 4,000th Ship

Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY), said it has recently achieved a milestone with the repair of its 4,000th ship. The vessel, the Gas Al Gurain, is an LPG Tanker owned by Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) one of ASRY’s longest standing customers. ASRY, established in 1977, noted that reaching the 4,000-ship mark was achieved in part thanks to some of the world most prestigious fleets, including KOTC, Maersk, UASC, Odfjell MidEast and many more. Installation of a new Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) system, exhaust gas economizer which utilizes the heat energy from diesel generators.

Grandweld Delivers Two Crewboats to Fujairah

Grandweld Shipyards has completed the delivery of two 33.5-meter Aluminum crew boats for Fujairah National Group. According to the builder, FNSA 1 and FNSA 2, sister vessels of the 33.5-meter class boats, are an optimized version of the in-house design that is built to assist in fast transfer of offshore personnel, deck cargo and liquid payload. The vessels will be operated by Inchcape Shipping Services LLC in different regions worldwide. FNSA 1 is currently working on a project in Mozambique in the East African coast, while FNSA 2 is currently working in Dubai.

Dubai's Grandweld Shipyard to Build Zamil Crewboat

Grandweld Shipyards has been awarded a repeat order from Zamil Offshore, to build a new 33.5M fast aluminum crew boat. This will be Zamil’s fourth order to Grandweld Shipyards after the successful delivery of three sister vessels in 2012. The new vessel will be based on Grandweld’s in –house superior design, and will be powered by 3 high speed diesel engines driving 3 fixed pitch propellers to produce speeds in excess of 25 knots. The 33.5M will be designed and built according to the classification rules and requirements of Bureau Veritas for Aluminum vessels. The vessel will be utilized to transport personnel and support offshore oil & gas operations. According to the contract, the vessel is scheduled for delivery in June 2014.

Grandweld Delivers Aluminum Crew Boat

Grandweld Shipyards delievered “Zamil 101” the first of three fast aluminum crew boats to Zamil Offshore. The vessel was part of a contract, which was signed in November 2011, to build and deliver three sister crew boats. The 33.5m fast crew boat is powered by 3 high speed diesel engines driving 3 fixed pitch propellers to produce a speed of 27 Knots. The vessel is designed and built according to the classification rules and requirements of Bureau Veritas for Aluminum vessels. The vessel will be utilized to transport offshore personnel and cargo, and will be operating offshore Saudi Arabia.

Zamil Offshore Orders Crew Boats from Grandweld

In yet another sign that the offshore oil and gas business in the Middle East continues to grow at breakneck speed, Grandweld Shipyards won a contract to design, build, and deliver three 33.5M Fast Aluminum Crew Boats for Zamil Offshore. The contract was signed by Sufyan Al Zamil, President of Zamil Offshore (pictured left) and Jamal Abki, General Manager of Grandweld Shipyards. The 33.5M fast crew boats will be powered by 3 high speed diesel engines driving 3 fixed pitch propellers to produce a speed of 26 Knots and continued service speed of 24 Knots.

Rolls-Royce Ship Lifts to Middle East Yards

Rolls-Royce won contracts to supply Syncrolift ship lifts to two shipyards in the Middle East. One order, from Damen Shipyards Sharjah FZE (DSS) will see a Syncrolift designed and installed at Hamriyah Free Zone shipyard at Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates. SMM 2010

Some 2000 exhibitors and more than 50,000 trade visitors are expected to attend the 24th shipbuilding, machinery & marine technology, international trade fair hamburg (SMM 2010), from 7 to 10 September 2010. This event will attract exhibitors from 50 nations, including the major yards from the leading shipbuilding nations, representatives of the marine equipment industry, and a whole range of small and medium-sized companies. More than 100 new exhibitors from all product areas have been accepted for SMM 2010. In the shipyard sector, for example, the Indian company Pipavav Shipyard Ltd. chose SMM 2010 for its first presentation on the international scene. It is India's largest shipyard, building freighters, offshore vessels and naval ships.
