McMurdo, a business of the Orolia Group (NYSE Alternext Paris – FR0010501015 – ALORO) unveiled its new range of AIS products at METS (Marine Equipment Trade Show) taking place in Amsterdam. Expanding its portfolio of AIS technologies, the new range includes the Smartfind M5 AIS Class A Transponder, the Smartfind M10 AIS Class B Transponder, the Smartfind M15 AIS Receiver and the Smartfind M15S AIS Receiver with VHF splitter.  The new range is now on display on the Orolia stand, number 03.405, together with the full range of McMurdo safety products including the new R5 GMDSS VHF handheld Radio and Fast Find 220 Personal Locator Beacon.

The Smartfind M5 AIS Class A Transponder with built in comprehensive AIS MOB and AIS SART alarm is robust for the tough commercial environment and includes sophisticated technology design for easy installation and operation. The AIS MOB and AIS SART alarm functionality provides a remote (MOB) alarm output relay signal and an on screen LED indication when when any AIS SART/MOB  TXID is received. It also allows a “buddy list” of own AIS MOB TXID and crew user name and has a steer to rescue MOB casualty target screen. The AIS MOB alarm feature is directy compatible with the McMurdo S10 AIS Beacon, the innovative personal safety device designed to be carried by divers and boat crew.  



A compact single box solution, the Smartfind M5 is the smallest size of AIS Class A in the world and features a 3.5” bright colour LCD display with powerful juggle control for quick entry of voyage related information as well as easy navigation of menus. It also features an embedded coastal Line map, detailed AIS target list and radar type overview, and enables users to react effectively in different maritime situations thanks to its direct control function keys for display dimming, messaging SRM, alarm-off and user-define.



The McMurdo Smartfind M5 AIS Class A Transponder is available from £1,499.00 ex VAT/ Euro €1,799.00 ex TAX, which includes the main unit and bracket. Optional extras include:
•    Junction box and link cable
•    GPS antenna
•    Pilot plug – remote socket box
 


Representing the next generation of high performance AIS Class B, the McMurdo Smartfind M10 AIS Class B Transponder supports NMEA2000 and NMEA0183 output, meets IEC 62287 and related standards, and features an optional WiFi interface as well as USB connectivity. It also benefits from an inbuilt data logger SD card slot which can be  used to keep record of all AIS activity for up to 30 days, a compact size PCB, low power consumption and a reliable transmission range.



The McMurdo Smartfind M10 AIS Class B Transponder is available from £399.00 ex VAT/ Euro €479.00 ex TAX.
 


The Smartfind M15 and the Smartfind M15S are AIS receivers designed to inter-operate with AIS Class A and Class B transponders, or any other AIS stations operating on the AIS VHF data link. The Smartfind M15 is a high performance, low cost receiver, making it possible for everyone to have AIS capability onboard, whilst the Smartfind M15S features a built in VHF antenna splitter making it possible for the receiver to output to a maximum of two portable devices at the same time.



Designed with sophisticated dual-channel receivers for optimal performance, the Smartfind M15 and M15S feature a unique AIS MOB LED indication and relay signal output. They are also small in size, easy to install and are supplied with user-friendly AIS Viewer software for PC.


The Smartfind M15 is available from £149.00 ex VAT/ €179.00 ex TAX and the Smartfind M15S is available from £215.00 ex VAT/ €259.00 ex TAX.


The new Smartfind AIS range will be available from the first quarter 2013.
