Drew Marine Begins Distribution Deal with ExxonMobil

Drew Marine said it has signed an agreement with ExxonMobil Marine Lubricants to expand the availability of ExxonMobil’s range of high performance lubricants. Drew Marine’s global supply chain will help ensure the availability of Flagship grades, including Mobil SHC Aware, to international vessel operators.The agreement covers a range of ExxonMobil’s synthetic marine industry lubricants. These include specific grades for compressors, hydraulic systems, gears, auxiliary engines and refrigeration plants. With this agreement in place, Drew Marine is now well-positioned to meet the most demanding lubricant applications.“Our global commercial and technical service personnel have a deep understanding of the needs of vessel operators,” said Frank J. Monteiro, President and CEO of Drew Marine.

Imtech Strengthens Position in Belgian Marine Market

Royal Imtech N.V. (IM-AE, technical services provider in and outside Europe) announces that it has acquired the Belgian maritime technical services provider Van Stappen & Cada NV. This company realizes annual revenue of over 3 million euro. The acquisition will be paid in cash and will immediately contribute to the earnings per share. It will enable Imtech to further strengthen its position in the Belgian marine market. Van Stappen & Cada was established in 1991 and has its registered office in Antwerp’s port area. The firm specialises in marine electronics, electrical solutions and air conditioning and primarily concentrates on services, repairs, maintenance and renovation, with a strong focus on inland shipping.

Imtech Acquires Belgian Maritime Technical Services Provider

Van Stappen & Cada has an annual revenue of over 3 million euro. The acquisition will be paid in cash and will immediately contribute to Royal Imtech's earnings per share. It will enable Imtech to further strengthen its position in the Belgian marine market. The Belgian company was established in 1991 and has its registered office in Antwerp’s port area. The firm specialises in marine electronics, electrical solutions and air conditioning and primarily concentrates on services, repairs, maintenance and renovation, with a strong focus on inland shipping. Its activities include electric systems, radar technology, propulsion, cameras, HVAC solutions and batteries.

MLL Wins U.S. Army Watercraft Mngmt Contract

Maersk Line Limited (MLL) has been awarded a contract for the Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS) of U.S. Army watercraft. MLL will be responsible for the upkeep and readiness of a range of watercraft, including barges, tugs and various boats, stationed in Yokohama, Japan. The contract has a nine-month base term with four one-year options. “We are pleased that the Army Sustainment Command has entrusted Maersk Line, Limited with the lifecycle management of their watercraft. We are confident that MLL’s 25 years of experience maintaining and operating government vessels and watercraft in overseas locations will translate into the highest levels of service for the Army,” said Bob Bowers, MLL’s Senior Director of Maritime Technical Services, the business unit that will perform the contract.

Lifecycle Strategies Important for Navy

Steve Carmel, Senior Vice President, Maritime Services at Maersk Line, Limited (MLL) was a keynote speaker at the Naval Logistics Symposium on July 22. The symposium, organized by the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE), an organization comprising of civilian and military naval engineers, focused on the challenges of implementing effective lifecycle management of naval assets. Maersk Line Completes Recapitalization

Maersk Line, Ltd has completed a recapitalization of its U.S. flag container fleet. The effort involved an investment of nearly $400m for the purchase and reflagging of nine ships into the U.S. registry. In keeping with its commitment to provide world-class U.S. flag transportation services, MLL's recapitalization plan called for the company to remove nine older, smaller ships from its U.S. fleet and replace them with larger, faster and more modern U.S. flag tonnage.
