Rolls-Royce Sells Bergen Engine Medium Speed Business for $180m

Rolls-Royce signed an agreement to sell the Bergen Engines medium speed gas and diesel engines business to TMH International, the international branch of TMH Group, for net proceeds of approximately $180 million.TMH Group, based in Russia, is an engineering company in rail transport technologies and the world’s fourth largest supplier of rail rolling stock. It offers a range of products and services including medium-speed engines for rail applications with current production of more than 850 engines a year.

Harris CapRock Communications has launched Harris CapRock One, a unified, fully managed satellite, wireless and terrestrial connectivity service designed to reduce customers’ voice, data and equipment management costs. Harris CapRock One is an integrated end-to-end service that transparently switches between transport mediums to optimize communications for global customers. According to Harris CapRock, customers in the energy and cruise industry, for example, often struggle to obtain reliable, always-on communications when their vessels, drilling sites and ships change their global positions and communications needs. With Harris CapRock One, they can replace current single or dual-band communications support options with a multiple-medium solution.

Zhurbenko Named DA-Desk Agency Relationship Manager

DA-Desk, an independent provider of port cost management services, today announced the promotion of Anna Zhurbenko to Agency Relationship Manager, replacing the retiring head of the department, Bert Hoogenboom. Zhurbenko, who has been with DA-Desk since 2011, was formerly Assistant Operations Manager. In her new capacity, Zhurbenko will focus foremost on developing new services designed to provide value to agents and owners/operators alike. MOL Technology Research Center Moves

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) announced plans to move the MOL Technology Research Center from its current site in Nishikojiya, Ota Ward, Tokyo, to Aso Ward in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture. The company held a groundbreaking ceremony at the site in Kawasaki on May 20. MOL executives on hand for the event included Senior Managing Executive Officer Yoichi Aoki, Executive Officer Kenji Yokota, and others involved in the project. All the attendees prayed for a safe conclusion to the construction work. The MOL Technology Research Center analyzes vessel fuel oils and lubricants, developing a fuel oil pretreatment device, research and development on CO2 reduction, and other R&D efforts to improve storage and transport technologies such as advanced reefer containers.
