GWMC Appoints Strand and New Board Members

Roy Strand

Goltens Worldwide Management Corp. (GWMC) has announced the appointment of Roy Strand as Chief Operating Officer. Strand has previously served as the Vice President of Operations in the Americas and Europe, and will continue to serve as the Advisory Board Chairman within the Goltens Worldwide group of companies. Prior to joining Goltens, Strand held various managerial and global executive positions in the professional services field, including at KPMG Consulting, Netegrity and Computer Associates.

Management Dynamics Hires Three Regional Sales Directors

Management Dynamics, Inc. the market leader in tariff and contract management solutions for the ocean transportation industry, today announced that the company has hired three regional U.S. sales directors to support the company's continued expansion into the shipper, freight forwarder, and Non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) markets. Michael Roberts will be responsible for Rate Explorer® product sales in the Southeast region; Patrick Taylor will lead Management Dynamics' sales operations in the Midwest; and John Christensen will direct the company's Northwest sales program. MTN Awarded Celebrity Cruises Contract; Renews RCCL Agreement

Maritime Telecommunications Network (MTN), Inc. has signed of a renewed contract on June 5, 2000, with Royal Caribbean International (RCI). This new contract will include RCI's sister fleet Celebrity Cruises. Under these agreements, MTN will provide a C-Band satellite communications network, allowing for shore-to-ship and ship-to-shore telephony, fax, data, and Internet transmission to 17 vessels and six new-builds. MTN will manage, support, and consult on this extensive global satellite network as well as supply and integrate NX Networks voice-over IP multi-plexers and Cisco routers. These systems will act as a platform for the roll-out of RCI's wireless remote management project, based upon Computer Associates' Unicenter TNG software.

Fincantieri Chooses CA's Unicenter and eTrust Solutions

Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) announced that Fincantieri has implemented Unicenter Network and Systems Management to control its complex distributed infrastructure, and CA's eTrust security solutions to protect its eBusiness applications and data. In 1999, stiff competition from Asia and reductions in defense spending prompted a far-reaching restructuring program to rationalize corporate processes. "The cornerstone of our renewal program was information technology," said Gianantonio Rui, CIO, Fincantieri. Fincantieri's distributed infrastructure comprises some 70 Windows NT servers handling data and communications for 1,800 Windows and 1,200 CAD workstations across the country.
