MARACAD Returns to Dubai

After an extremely successful debut in 2015, the MARACAD Conference and Expo returns to Dubai once again in 2016. Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Works Chairman of the Federal Transport Authority – Land and Maritime, the event is the result of a high level strategic partnership with the Dubai Maritime City Authority. MARACAD 2016, which is organized by Cham Events, will take place on 20th – 21st September at Dubai World Trade Centre UAE, and will comprise a conference and exhibition focused on helping shipping industry stakeholders prepare a new generation for jobs in the maritime sector.

Academies of IRS, Lloyd's Maritime, IBC Sign MOU

IRClass Academy of the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding last month with Lloyd’s Maritime Academy (LMA) and IBC Academy (IBCA) that are part of Informa PLC in the UK. The objective of this collaboration is to deliver customised training solutions in specialist areas for Indian organisations as well as individuals in maritime and energy sectors. IRClass Academy aims to emerge as a leader in professional development by partnering with industry and by collaborating with established providers of education and training services such as LMA and IBCA. Navy Awards $256.1m in Training and Ed Contracts

The Navy has awarded contracts potentially worth $256.1m to six companies to provide education and training services.  The winners are EG&G Technical Services Inc., General Dynamics Information Technology, Lockheed Martin Corp., Technical Software Services Inc., Raytheon Technical Services Co. and Carley Corp., the Defense Department said Aug. 22.  The companies will provide education and training products and support services for the Navy’s Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education Enterprise program. The Naval Education and Training Professional Development and in , will oversee the contract work.
