Felix Named VP at Carlile Transportation

Larry Felix

Carlile Transportation Systems, Inc., a TOTE Logistics company, has named Larry Felix as their new Vice President of Business Development. Larry will provide leadership over commercial development in Alaska and throughout the Lower 48. Larry joins Carlile from Oak Harbor Freight Lines, Inc. out of Southern California, where he held the position of District Manager of Sales & Operations. Larry was responsible for developing the Southern Californian District comprised of seven terminals spanning from Fresno to San Diego, California and as far east as Las Vegas, Nevada.

Nichols Brothers Boat Builders Looks at Expanding

According to a report from the South Whidbey Record, Nichols Brothers Boat Builders is looking at expanding its operations into Oak Harbor, Wash. in order to have a larger role in building ferries for Washington state.   Source: South Whidbey Record

Navy to Prepare Environmental Statement

The US Navy plans to prepare an environmental impact statement to evaluate potential environmental consequences of homebasing the new P-8A multi-mission maritime aircraft to the east and west coasts of the United States. This aircraft is intended to replace the P-3C Orion airplane. Public scoping meetings will be held in Jacksonville (January 11); Honolulu (January 18); Coronado, CA (February 8); and Oak Harbor, WA (February 15).
