First Bunker Supply by Barge at Paradip

Gulf Petrochem Group, the UAE based global bunker supplier, has set another milestone in its operations with the first-ever bunker supply by barge at the non-conventional port of Paradip in Odisa, India’s east coast in a joint effort with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). Gulf Petrochem arranged for the supply of 810 metric tons of bunker fuel IFO 180 CST by barge. Typically, supplies were made to the non-regular bunker port of Paradip only by Road Tanker Wagons (RTW) and for small volumes.

Alexandria Port Authority Orders 4 New Tugs

It is one of the world's most important trade ports: the Egyptian port of Alexandria, a metropolis of some 4 million inhabitants. Located right on the western end of the Nile Delta, the port handles container and cruise vessels bound for the Suez Canal. Following the opening of the Suez Canal expansion in August, Egypt is hoping for a significant increase in transiting vessels. The Port Authority has placed orders for a total of four new additional port tugs equipped with Voith Schneider Propellers (VSP) with two Egyptian shipyards.

New Brass Ball Valve from Wabtec

Wabtec Corporation (NYSE:WAB) introduced two new lines of brass ball valve products to serve a variety of industrial markets, including Oil and Gas, LP Gas and Chemical Manufacturing. For industrial markets, Wabtec now offers a robust valve that can withstand extreme temperature changes. The valve features a preloaded seat to extend valve life by keeping the ball seals pressed against the ball as the seals wear. These valves, which can also be refurbished with replacement kits, come in Full port, Conventional port, and UL Listed. They can be configured to fit custom applications. In addition, Wabtec offers an economy brass ball valve line to complement the premium line.
