Hercules Supply Orders MPSV from China's Fujian Mawei

Neptune Lines Orders Two Car Carriers from China's Fujian Mawei

Greek shipping company Neptune Lines announced the order of two next generation car carrier vessels, specially designed for its short sea trades. Fujian Mawei shipyard in China will build the 4,200 CEU DF PCTC vessels for scheduled delivery in 2026.The new vessels, under the Genesis Project, are the first two of a new series which reflects Neptune’s strategy to supplement its fleet over the next decade, increase relevant cargo capacity by 36% from current core fleet vessels, and reduce emissions to remain well ahead of global targets.

Battery-Powered Cruise Ferry Launched in China

A battery-powered cruise ferry Moli has been launched in Fujian province of China.The vessel, classed by China Classification Society, was launched at Fujian Funing Shipbuilding.The 27.66-meter (91-foot), aluminum vessel 102 passengers and has a battery capacity of 840 kWh, providing sufficient power for 70 kilometers (43 miles) of sailing.This ship will conduct sightseeing tours on the two rivers and four shorelines of Fuzhou (Cangxia WharfJiangxin Park WharfYantai Mountain Wharf).The Moli is a demonstration project of the “Electric Fujian” series of policies in Fujian Province.

MacGregor to Supply RoRo Equipment for Sallaum Lines' LNG PCTC Vessel Duo

Marine equipment firm MacGregor, part of Cargotec, said Thursday it had won a large order for RoRo equipment packages for two dual-fuel LNG Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) vessels. The PCTC vessels will be built at Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Ltd. for Sallaum Lines. China Approves New LNG Receiving Terminal in Fujian Province

China Seizes 11 Ships in $770 Million Oil Smuggling Bust

China foiled criminals seeking to smuggle nearly 1 million tonnes of refined oil worth 5 billion yuan ($770 million), with officials seizing 11 ships and detaining 171 suspects in a sprawling swoop on Tuesday, customs authorities said.The operation, which saw customs officers from the port city of Ningbo join forces with local law enforcement and maritime police, spanned eight Chinese regions, including the coastal provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong and Fujian, the General Administration of Customs said in a statement.A total of 14 gangs were busted on Tuesday, the agency added.

P&O Maritime Orders Two Chinese Newbuilds

Dubai-based P&O Maritime Logistics (POML) said it recently secured a contract to build two vessels to support Ok Tedi Mining Limited’s (OTML) growing export requirements.The vessels, designed by Wärtsilä Ship Design, will be 5,400 DWT bulk and container carriers built at Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Limited in China, and once completed, will operate in Papua New Guinea (PNG) principally between Kiunga in the Western Province and Port Moresby. There is an option for a third vessel to the same design.The 90-meter-long, 5,400 DWT ships will have a nominal container capacity of 229 units.

Norwegian-based PG Flow Solutions said on Wednesday it has secured orders to supply large liquid-cargo systems and associated equipment for two multipurpose support vessels (MPSV) being constructed in China for an undisclosed shipowner.Under the contract with Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding, theliquid handling and pump specialist said it will supply a comprehensive hydraulically driven cargo system with pumps, mud agitators, hydraulic power pack and control system to each of the two vessels.
