The hallmarks of a successful vessel operator are the same whether they are carrying liquid, physical or human cargo: A laser focus on safety, a twin commitment to customers and crew, and the vision to embrace and invest in the future. How to Start A Towing Vessel NCOE

Last summer, USCG Commander Gregory Case was charged with transforming the Coast Guard’s Towing Vessel National Center of Expertise (TVNCOE) from a plan on paper to a brick and mortar reality. The center is one of seven National Centers of Expertise, and is charged with training towing vessel examiners and inspectors, being a repository of towing vessel expertise and forming and strengthening partnerships with industry. In May 2010 the center was officially opened in Paducah, Kentucky.

News: New Bouchard Transportation ATB Launched at Bollinger

The first of its two double-hull, clean product, ocean-going, articulated tug and barge (ATB) units is ready for sea trails and is being outfitted for delivery at Bollinger Shipyards, Morton Bouchard III, President and CEO of Bouchard Transportation Co., Inc. "In 1990, our company embarked on a long-term business plan that has been moving forward for over a decade. Our management initiated an aggressive building plan that includes the retrofit of single-hull barges and a new building program which includes two new articulated tugs and barges that will strategically position the organization in the petroleum transportation industry. The new double-hull ATB units are major components of a business plan that will take us to where we want to be by 2005.

New Bouchard ATB To Be Launched at Bollinger

Morton Bouchard III, President and CEO of Bouchard Transportation Co., Inc and Bouchard Coastwise Management Corporation, announced that the first of its two double-hull, clean product, ocean-going, articulated tug and barge (ATB) units is ready for sea trails and is being outfitted for delivery at Bollinger Shipyards in Louisiana. In his statement to the press, Mr. Bouchard said, "In 1990, our company embarked on a long-term business plan that has been moving forward for over a decade. Our management initiated an aggressive building plan that includes the retrofit of single-hull barges and a new building program which includes two new articulated tugs and barges that will strategically position the organization in the petroleum transportation industry.
