Greece Says Iran Releases Tankers Seized in May

Vitol Sends Rare Shipment of Russian ESPO Crude to UAE

The world's largest independent oil trader, Vitol, loaded a cargo of Russian ESPO Blend crude for the United Arab Emirates this week, the first such voyage for the grade, data from several analytics firms showed.Suezmax tanker Kriti Breeze loaded the 740,000-barrel cargo on May 3, and is heading to the port of Fujairah, data from Refinitiv, Kpler and Vortexa showed.Vitol could not immediately be reached for comment.(Reporting by Florence Tan and Chen Aizhu; Editing by Clarence Fernandez)

Port of Amsterdam Signs Pact with Port of Fujairah

Operations Begin at New Fujairah Port

Abu Dhabi celebrated the official commencement of operations of Fujairah Terminals in the East coast of the United Arab Emirates. The announcement came following an official event held at Novotel Fujairah, attended by Sheikh Saleh bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Board of Port of Fujairah, Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports, along with a delegation of Senior Managers, Key Stakeholders and Customers. Earlier this year, Abu Dhabi Ports signed a 35-year concession agreement with the Port of Fujairah, under which "Fujairah Terminals", a new operational arm wholly owned by Abu Dhabi Ports, was established with over AED 1 billion ear-marked for investment in in equipment, and infra and super structure.

Emac Initiates Maritime Sector Discussions

The Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre, Emac, last week met with senior executives in two key meetings in Fujairah, as part of its commitment to work with key industry bodies in the region’s maritime sector, Emirates News Agency WAM has reported. In the first meeting, the EMAC delegation discussed boosting cooperation with Port of Fujairah General Manager, Captain Mousa Murad, and Harbour Master, Captain Tamer Masoud, to support further growth of the maritime sector in the emirate. The EMAC team also visited the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry where they discussed means of enhancing collaboration with the Chairman of Board of Directors, Khalifa Khamis Mattar Alkaabi, and Director-General, Khalid Mohammed Al Jassim.

Shell LNG Tanker Damaged in Collision off UAE

The Al Khattiya liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker, one of the world's largest, suffered damage to its hull in a collision with an oil tanker off the United Arab Emirates last week, operator Royal Dutch Shell said on Tuesday. Sitting empty off the UAE port of Fujairah, a busy anchorage point on the Gulf of Oman, the tanker was struck by the Jag Laadki operated by India's Great Eastern Shipping Company, Shell said in an email. No injuries or pollution were reported in the Feb. 23 incident, but two of the Al Khattiya's ballast tanks were breached with a loss of some water, it said. Shell said cargo tank pressures were stable indicating no loss of LNG containment on the Al Khattiya, which has a capacity of 210,000 cubic metres. The vessel is owned by Qatari shipping group Nakilat.

DP World, Port of Fujairah End Concession Agreement

Abu Dhabi Ports: No Immediate Plans for a Listing

Abu Dhabi Ports has no plans to launch a public sale of shares in the short term, the chief executive of the state-owned company told Reuters on Tuesday. "There are no immediate plans to go public," Mohamed Juma al Shamisi said when asked if the company planned to sell shares and a subsequent listing. Fujairah Terminals Welcomes First Container Feeder Vessel

The newly established Fujairah Terminals, under the management of Abu Dhabi Ports, has welcomed its first container feeder vessel, the Dubai Alliance, reported Gulf News. This is the first ship to arrive at the terminal, which is wholly owned by Abu Dhabi Ports, the master developer, operator and manager of commercial and community ports within the emirate of Abu Dhabi, Fujairah Port and Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD), following the signing of a concession agreement with the Port of Fujairah in June this year. Under a 35-year concession, Abu Dhabi Ports has the exclusive rights to develop port infrastructure and undertake operations for containers, general cargo, roll-on roll-off and cruise ships.
