Gemeco Launches Re-designed Web Resource

The newly designed website employs a simple, yet elegant interface allowing intuitive access to vital information about transducers and networking. Gemeco Partners to Refit the Impossible Dream

Gemeco Marine Accessories, world-leading experts in the selection, placement and technical support for marine transducers and NMEA networking products, announced today its partnership with non-profit organizations, the Impossible Dream and Shake-a-Leg Miami in the refit of the universally accessible 60-foot sailing catamaran, Impossible Dream. The organizations are developing the Impossible Dream as a flagship vessel to promote sailing as a way to improve the health, education, and independence of people with disabilities and disadvantaged youth, as well as their families. “Close to 20% of the American population has some form of disability,” said Peter Braffitt, general manager, Gemeco Marine Accessories.

Offshore Systems Appoints U.S. Distributor

Offshore Systems (U.K.) Ltd, manufacturer of NMEA2000 digital monitoring and control systems for recreation and commercial vessels has appointed Gemeco Marine Accessories as its exclusive U.S. distributor. Gemeco will distribute Offshore Systems’ entire product line including tank senders, gauges, electrical system sensors and display units. Gemeco is a wholesale distributor of marine accessories to thousands of marine electronics dealers throughout the U.S. and abroad. SeaWave Introduces SeaWave Navigator

SeaWave LLC released its newest maritime communications software, SeaWave Navigator Version 1.1. SeaWave Navigator is a low-cost, user-friendly communications solution, providing Internet e-mail, NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) color weather charts, NOAA text weather forecasts, and other communication services to professional mariners. SeaWave Navigator is the software component of SeaWave’s marine communications system, which utilizes high frequency (HF) radio technology to securely transmit digital data to vessels at sea. Eliminating the need for costly capital investment, SeaWave Navigator employs standard Single Sideband (SSB) hardware and does not require specialized and expensive equipment.

NMEA Announces Electronics Product Award Winners

The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA), announced this year’s recipients of the product awards distributed at NMEA’s Annual convention and Exposition at Sanibel Harbor Resort in Fort Myers, Fla. October 23-26. The NMEA products awards recognize excellence in design, performance and reliability in marine electronics products. The awards are selected by votes from marine electronics dealers, distributors and other industry professionals. According to the rules, each active, non-manufacturer member of the NMEA and each NMEA-certified marine electronics technician are allowed to cast one vote. This year’s winners were comprised of 13 companies in 24 different product categories.
