ISS Inks Service Pact with Technip

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) and Techniphave signed a contract to provide marine agency services and logistics for the Rashid C project in the Middle East. Currently under offshore execution by Technip for Dubai Petroleum Establishment (DPE), ISS will provide a range of services for the Rashid C project including port agency, crew transfer, visa assistance and cargo services. ISS’ support for offshore logistics is expected to run throughout the rest of 2015 and into the first quarter of 2016 including a dedicated marine operations team member based at Technip’s operations office at Dubai Dry Docks. GAC to Serve Bibby Offshore U.K. Fleet

Bibby Offshore U.K. Ltd signed a nonexclusive ship agency services contract with GAC covering all ports in the U.K. and making the Group their first choice of provider elsewhere worldwide. Aberdeen-based Bibby Offshore U.K. Ltd is a subsidiary of the Bibby Line Group, providing solutions to the oil and gas sector operating in the North Sea. The deal with GAC has been signed just as Bibby Offshore U.K. embarks on a five-year growth plan that will see the expansion of its fleet of offshore construction vessels and ROV systems.

NNSY's Surge Main Stands Up

A group of 12 reserve Sailors became plank owners on Aug. 25 for initiating the Surge Main concept at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY), where they performed a number of deckplate repair functions - seamlessly and professionally - during their annual active duty training. “We were able to hit the ground running by drawing on lessons learned from related programs at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (and Intermediate Maintenance Facility), and at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard(and Intermediate Maintenance Facility),” said Lt. Cmdr. Stephen Estrada, NNSY's Surge Main Program Manager. “Surge Main provides a part-time, fully qualified maintenance workforce that can be assigned whenever and wherever the Navy needs to support Fleet Readiness and the Fleet Response Plan,” Estrada explained.
