Noble Reports Record Earnings

Noble Corporation reported 4Q 2007 earnings of $347.4 million, or $1.29 per diluted share, versus $199.7 million, or $0.74 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter of 2006. Per-share earnings were up 74 percent from the fourth quarter of 2006 and up nine percent from the $1.18 per share reported for the third quarter of 2007. Earnings for the full year 2007 totaled $4.48 per diluted share compared with $2.66 per diluted share in 2006 (split adjusted). The results for the 2007 fourth quarter include a net after-tax charge of $0.06 per share related to the previously reported fire aboard the drillship Noble Roger Eason and costs associated with the ongoing independent investigation of the Company's Nigerian operations, offset by an insurance recovery on our 2005 Hurricane claims.

FGH Announces Rig Work

Friede Goldman Offshore, Inc., the rig segment of Friede Goldman Halter, Inc. announced that Noble Drilling (U.S.) Inc. has scheduled the Noble Amos Runner for repair work at FGH's Pascagoula facility. The EVA 4000 semisubmersible was hit by an offshore supply vessel (OSV) during drilling operations in October 2000, and the main structural tubular braces were damaged. The rig is insured and the damage is covered under the policy. "This is the first rig Noble will be bringing in under the previously announced Master Shipyard Agreement," said Ron Schnoor, Group President of the Offshore Division. Friede Goldman Offshore converted and delivered the Noble Amos Runner to Noble in August 1999.

FGH Completes Rig Repair

Friede Goldman Halter, Inc. (FGH) announced that FGO, the company's rig segment, has completed repairs to the Noble Amos Runner, an EVA 4000 semisubmersible which was damaged by an offshore supply vessel (OSV) during drilling operations. The rig had to undergo replacement of damaged structural elements. Noble also utilized the time to perform other minor modification work. The rig departed on budget and ahead of schedule. "We are very cognizant of the revenue loss our customers may suffer if their work is delayed. Meeting or beating their schedule is important to us and our customers," stated Anil Raj, chief operating officer of Friede Goldman Halter.

Noble Drilling Announces Delivery of Fourth Semisubmersible Conversion

Noble Drilling Corporation announced its fourth successful EVA-4000TM semisubmersible conversion, Noble Amos Runner, began its five-year contract for Kerr-McGee Corporation, Marathon Oil Company and Murphy Exploration and Production Company in the Gulf of Mexico. The unit, capable of drilling in water depths up to 6,600 ft., was delivered from the shipyard in August. The company also reported Noble Paul Wolff, the second EVA-4000TM conversion, has successfully drilled a well in a water depth of 8,017 ft. for Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. Noble Announces Fourth Successful Semi Conversion

Noble Drilling said its fourth successful EVA-4000 semisubmersible conversion, Noble Amos Runner, began drilling in the Gulf of Mexicofor its contractors - Kerr-McGee Corp., Marathon Oil and Murphy Exploration and Production Co. The semi, capable of drilling in water depths of 6,600 ft., underwent mooring sea trials before it began its five-year drilling project in the Gulf. Noble Drilling, also announced its second conversion, Noble Paul Wolff, drilled a well for Petroleo Brasiliero S.A. (Petrobas) in 8,017 ft. of water, reportedly setting a new world record. Noble Paul Wolff, capable of drilling in 8,900 ft. of water, is currently under a six-year Petrobas contract.
