Petrobras Extends BassDrill Beta Contract

Atlantica Tender Drilling, a provider of management and contract drilling services for oil and gas wells for the offshore tender assist market worldwide, announced that Petrobras has extended the rig BassDrill Beta by 180 days."Petrobras exercised its right to extend the Beta contract by 180 days commencing in September 2019 through March of 2020," said a press release from theAtlantica has two semi tender units are secured on long-term development contracts. Atlantica's “BassDrill Beta” is a semi-submersible tender assist vessel built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry. It is a Platform registered and sailing under the flag of Panama.BassDrill Beta has a operational displacement of 21,530 metric ton and total operational payload of 4,500 metric ton.

Transocean Shareholders OK Ocean Rig Acquisition

Transocean, international provider of offshore contract drilling services for oil and gas wells, has announced that its shareholders approved the acquisition of Ocean Rig UDW, by approving the proposals presented at Transocean’s Extraordinary General Meeting. Petrobras Extends Transocean Contract

The  international provider of offshore contract drilling services for oil and gas wells Transocean announced that the ultra-deepwater drillship Petrobras 10000 was awarded a 790-day contract extension offshore Brazil with Petrobras.The contract is extended through October 2021 and includes a blend and extend modification to the previous contract dayrate, effective September 2018. Rowan Gets New Contract by Turkish Petroleum

Offshore driller Rowan Companies has been awarded a two-well contract for its Rowan Norway jack-up rig in the Mediterranean Sea by Turkish Petroleum.Rowan Companies announced that the Rowan Norway, an N-Class ultra-harsh environment jack-up rig, has been awarded a two-well contract in the Mediterranean Sea by Turkish Petroleum with an estimated duration 100-140 days.The contract is expected to commence in late 2018. Transocean Signs 11 Well Contract with Chevron Australia

The international provider of offshore contract drilling services for oil and gas wells Transocean announced that the ultra-deepwater semisubmersible GSF Development Driller I was awarded an 11-well contract (approximately 955 days) commencing offshore Australia in the first half of 2019 with Chevron Australia.The estimated firm contract backlog, excluding integrated services, is approximately USD 158 million. Additionally, the contract includes four one-well options.Two days ago, Transocean announced that the midwater semisubmersible Transocean 712 was awarded a 13-well contract (approximately 580 days) commencing in March 2019 in the U.K. North Sea with ConocoPhillips.The estimated firm contract backlog is approximately $75 million. Rowan Secures ExxonMobil Drillship Contract

Contract drilling services provider Rowan Companies plc announced that the one of its R-Class drillships, Rowan Relentless, has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil to drill a prospect in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.The contract is expected to commence in September 2018 and last for 80 days, followed by four one-well, priced options.

Chrysaor Contracts Rowan jack-up for North Sea

Rowan Companies  announced  that the Rowan Gorilla VII, a Super Gorilla Class ultra-harsh environment jack-up rig, has been awarded an 18-month program by Chrysaor in the UK sector of the North Sea. The contract is expected to commence imminently for 18 months of work followed by two, one-year options. The Gorilla VII has recently undergone significant life enhancements including a new top drive, and upgrades to the BOP and drilling controls. Transocean Amends Drilling Contract

Transocean announced that an agreement has been reached with the incumbent customer to amend the drilling contract on the harsh environment semisubmersible Transocean Leader. The rig experienced equipment breakdown that could not be repaired timely, providing the customer with the right to cancel the contract. However, given the otherwise efficient performance of the rig, the customer elected to complete its program with the Leader and Transocean agreed to amend the drilling contract, signed today and effective January 13, 2018, whereby the dayrate and contract duration were modified. The rig is currently in the shipyard for these repairs and will not earn a dayrate during the first quarter of 2018.

Transocean Gets Statoil Contracts

Transocean announced  that the harsh environment semisubmersible Transocean Spitsbergen was awarded a 22-well contract with an estimated duration of 33 months; plus two one-well options in the Norwegian North Sea with Statoil Petroleum ASA. The estimated firm backlog associated with the contract is approximately $286 million, which excludes opportunities for performance incentives. Transocean Wins BHP Work

Transocean announced that the ultra-deepwater drillship Deepwater Invictus was awarded a two-year contract plus three one-year priced options with a subsidiary of BHP Billiton. The backlog associated with the firm contract is approximately $106 million. The contract is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2018. “We are extremely pleased to continue working with BHP,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Thigpen. “Since we welcomed the Invictus into our fleet in 2014, the combination of BHP, Transocean and the Invictus has delivered industry-leading performance; and, we look forward to extending our productive relationship through this multi-year contract,” Jeremy added.

Transocean Retires Six Floaters

Transocean announced its intent to retire the ultra-deepwater floaters GSF Jack Ryan, Sedco Energy, Sedco Express, Cajun Express, and Deepwater Pathfinder, and the deepwater floater Transocean Marianas. The rigs will be classified as held for sale and will be recycled in an environmentally responsible manner. All six rigs were previously cold stacked. The company will recognize an impairment charge of approximately $1.4 billion during the third quarter of 2017 associated with these actions. “We continue to enhance the quality of our fleet through the addition of new, high-specification assets, and the retirement of older, less competitive rigs,” said Jeremy Thigpen, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Rowan's Fleet Status Update

Rowan Companies plc informed today that its monthly report of drilling rig status and contract details have been updated as of November 20, 2014. Rowan Louisiana: As previously indicated, awarded a one-well contract with an estimated minimum duration of 45 days with EnVen in the Gulf of Mexico at $85,000 per day, which commenced in mid-November 2014. Rowan Resolute: As previously indicated, commenced operations on October 16, 2014 in the US Gulf of Mexico. Increased previously planned 4Q 2014 off rate time by 20 days to a total of 27 days in order to complete certain commissioning tasks. Rowan Gorilla VI: As previously indicated, commenced operations in early September 2014. Increased off rate time by 19 days to a total of 26 days during 4Q 2014.

Transocean's Latest Fleet Update Summary

Transocean Ltd. has issued a monthly Fleet Update Summary which includes new contracts, significant changes to existing contracts, and changes in estimated planned out-of-service time of 15 or more days since May 15, 2014. The high-specification jackup, GSF Magellan, is held for sale. Estimated 2014 planned out-of-service time decreased by a net five days; estimated 2015 planned out-of-service time increased by a net 29 days. Noble Reports 2013 Results

Noble Corporation has reported fourth quarter 2013 net income of $174 million, or $0.68 per diluted share. Results for the fourth quarter included an after tax charge of $36 million, or $0.14 per diluted share, relating to an impairment taken on the FPSO Seillean. Excluding the impairment charge, net income for the fourth quarter would have totaled $210 million, or $0.82 per diluted share. For the third quarter of 2013, the Company reported net income of $282 million, or $1.10 per diluted share, which included after tax gains totaling approximately $63 million, or $0.25 per diluted share.

Latest Transocean Offshore Rig Status Report

Transocean's latest comprehensive Fleet Status Report provides the current status and contract information for the company's entire fleet of offshore drilling rigs. The total value of new contracts since the December 18, 2013 Fleet Update Summary is approximately $48 million. GSF Arctic III - Awarded a two-well contract in the U.K. sector of the North Sea at a dayrate of $410,000 ($48 million estimated backlog). The rig's prior dayrate was $339,000. Sedco Energy and Transocean Marianas, ultra-deepwater and deepwater floaters, respectively, are idle.

Offshore contract drilling services provider Transocean Limited's monthly Fleet Update Summary includes new contracts, significant changes to existing contracts, and changes in estimated planned out-of-service time of 15 or more days since November 18, 2013. The total value of new contracts since the November 18, 2013 Fleet Update Summary is approximately US$292-million. Cajun Express - Awarded a six-well contract at a dayrate of $495,000 ($181 million estimated backlog). The rig's prior dayrate was $600,000.

Transocean Appoint Lars Sjobring Senior V-P & General Counsel

Mr. Sjobring will join the company upon completion of the notice period with his current employer and will be based in Geneva, Switzerland. In the interim, Mr. Allen Katz will continue to serve as the company's Interim Senior Vice President and General Counsel. His qualifications include over 15 years of law practice in international settings, and he received his education in both Europe and the United States. Mr. Sjobring has been serving as the Vice President Legal Affairs, General Counsel and Secretary of Autoliv, Inc., an automotive safety supplier, since 2007.

Transocean Fleet Status Report Update

International provider of offshore contract drilling services for oil and gas wells, Transocean Ltd. has issued the report which provides the current status and contract information for the company's entire fleet of offshore drilling rigs. The total value of new contracts since the September 18, 2013 Fleet Update Summary is approximately $2.0 billion. As announced earlier, the company has been awarded a five-year drilling contract for a newbuild dynamically positioned ultra-deepwater drillship by Chevron U.S.A. Inc. Shipyard delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2016.

Offshore Drillers, Noble Corp., Bound for UK

Noble Corporation's Board of Directors has approved changing the place of incorporation of the publicly traded parent of the Noble group of companies from Switzerland to the United Kingdom. The Company's shareholders will be asked to vote to approve the proposed change. If approved by shareholders, Noble expects the change of the place of incorporation to be effective as soon as practicable following the merger of Noble Corporation, the current Swiss parent company, into a newly formed company incorporated under English law.

Diamond Offshore Order New Rig, Charter it Out

Diamond Offshore Drilling order Moss CS60E design harsh environment semi-submersible drilling rig from Hyundai Heavy Industries, & charter it out to BP subsidiary. The 10,000 ft. dynamically positioned rig is expected to be delivered after November 2015. Projected capital cost of the unit including spares, commissioning and shipyard supervision is approximately $755 million. The company also announced that a three-year drilling contract has been entered into with a subsidiary of BP plc to utilize the rig for initial operations off the coast of South Australia. The initial operating dayrate under the drilling contract is $585,000 per day and is subject to upward adjustment for certain increased operating costs and equipment modifications.
