Sleipnir, the world's largest semi-submersible crane vessel, has arrived in the Port of Rotterdam for the first time since its delivery from Singapore last year.Heerema Marine Contractors, the Netherlands-based offshore installation company, and the owner of the vessel has informed that vessel "arrived home" on Sunday, March 22,Heerema's newly upgraded tug Kolga joined Sleipnir at sea to guide the vessel into the Caland Canal. "[The vessels] arrived around 14.45, and in line with ongoing guidelines, we decided to greet the vessel and its crew from the sky rather than onshore.

Bermuda-registered liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipping company Golar LNG said that its floating LNG (FLNG) Hilli Episeyo continues to achieve 100% commercial uptime. The vessel recently exported its 25th cargo."Discussions continue with field operator Perenco with respect to increasing the vessel's utilization and potentially increasing the overall duration of the contract term," the NASDAQ-listed company said. The initial focus of these discussions remains on utilization of train 3 and the contract adjustments necessary to ensure that the export of additional LNG at current prices is an attractive proposition for all parties. "We expect resolution of this by year-end," the company said.The FLNG Gimi Conversion project continues on target in Singapore.

The Chief Executive of offshore oil and gas driller Fieldwood Energy LLC, Matt McCarroll, says he is not scared of the hurricanes, geological risks and costs that keep some oil companies out of the Gulf of Mexico. Instead, he is doubling down. The private equity-backed company - already the largest operator on the U.S. outer continental shelf - announced on Thursday it is closing a $480 million acquisition of Noble Energy’s assets in the Gulf of Mexico that will add 25,000 barrels per day (bpd) to its current net production of 72,000 bpd of oil equivalent.

Hurricane Harvey intensified early on Friday into potentially the most powerful hurricane to hit the U.S. mainland in more than a decade, as authorities warned locals to shelter from what could be life-threatening winds and floods. Harvey is set to make landfall late Friday or early Saturday on the central Texas coast where Corpus Christi and Houston are home to some of the biggest U.S. refineries. Greek developer Energean Oil & Gas has secured its first gas supply deals for Israel's Karish and Tanin reservoirs, Reuters reported. The deals were signed with Dalia Power, which operates Israel's largest private power station, and Or Power, which is planning to build new power plants, Energean said in a statement. The two firms will be purchasing an overall amount of up to 23 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas to operate the Dalia power plant – Israel's largest private power station –  as well as future such facilities to be built by Or, the partners announced on Sunday. The Leviathan reservoir partners announced on Sunday their plans to begin drilling a new well in the basin during the first quarter of next year, reports The Jerusalem Post. The partners announced today that work will commence in the first quarter of 2017 and a budget of $77 million has been allocated for the drilling. The first stage of the Leviathan drilling will begin immediately after completion of the drilling for the Tamar 8 gas field. The Leviathan partners are Noble Energy Inc.(39.66%) Delek Group Ltd. units Avner Oil and Gas LP and Delek Drilling LP (22.67% each) and Ratio Oil Exploration (15%). The Petroleum Commissioner in Israel’s Ministry of National Infrastructures, Energy and Water Resources approved the Leviathan development plan in June.

Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades has said that building an LNG terminal in Cyprus will depend on discoveries and the results of the country’s third licensing round. Discussing the Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone’s third licensing round, Anastasiades said that the construction of an LNG terminal in Cyprus - and Cyrpus’ consequent conversion into an energy hub – would rely upon the results of ongoing research programmes or new licenses. As for the new licences mentioned, Anastasiades referred to the third offshore licensing round for hydrocarbon exploration the country launched on March 24, 2016. Three blocks are open for licensing, with the application deadline set for July 22, 2016.

Two of the major British players in Falkland Islands offshore oil development, Premier Oil and Rockhopper Exploration, cancelled a joint venture contract with Ocean Rig UDW. In June 2014, the companies entered into a contract with Ocean Rig for the provision of the Eirik Raude for an exploration drilling campaign in the Falkland Islands. However, following a number of material "operational issues" with the rig, Premier and Noble Energy issued a termination notice to Ocean Rig on Thursday, terminating the contract with immediate effect. "As a result, Premier will no longer be drilling the Chatham exploration well during the current campaign.

U.S. energy firms cut oil rigs for the sixth straight week, data showed on Friday, and were expected to shed more in coming weeks with three major U.S. shale oil companies slashing their spending plans after crude prices hit 12-year lows. Drillers removed 12 oil rigs in the week ended Jan. 29, bringing the rig count down to 498, the least since March 2010, oil services company Baker Hughes Inc said in its closely followed report. That compares with 1,223 oil rigs in same week a year ago. In 2015, drillers cut on average 18 rigs per week for a total of 963 oil rigs for the year, the biggest annual decline since at least 1988. American oil firm Noble Energy will supply Egypt with seven LNG cargos from April for two years, an Egyptian oil ministry statement said on Tuesday. Egypt has signed several deals in past months to import natural gas, which powers most of its home and factories. Reporting by Ehab Farouk

A Turkish research vessel will continue searching for oil and gas off Cyprus, Turkish Cypriot authorities said on Tuesday, extending a simmering standoff between rival sides on the ethnically-split island over offshore gas reserves. The row has already led to Greek Cypriots suspending participation in peace talks with estranged Turkish Cypriots, and on Monday they said they would not return as long as the vessel remained in the area. Barbaros, a seismographic research vessel commissioned by Turkey's state petroleum company TPAO, has been carrying out surveys in an area in the east Mediterranean claimed by Cyprus under international conventions.

The United States supports moving forward with offshore natural gas deals in the Mediterranean involving the U.S. company Noble Energy, a State Department spokesman said on Tuesday. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has also discussed the issue with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, State Department spokesman Jeff Rathke said. "We continue to engage and we support all parties to move forward with the natural gas deal signed between Noble Energy and entities in Jordan and Egypt," Rathke told reporters. Last week, Israel's competition regulator recommended breaking up control of the country's offshore gas reserves by Noble Energy and Delek Group, who together hold 85 percent of the giant Leviathan natural gas field.

Nordic Maritime was awarded a five-year charter for the DP2 IMR Subsea vessel from Noble Energy in October. “We are glad to announce that our vessel Nordic Prince had arrived at Haifa Port and on-hire for the highly reputable international oil company, Noble Energy,” said Kjell Gauksheim, Executive Director of Nordic Maritime.

Woodside has finalised an agreement with Noble Energy and Glencore to farm in to the Tilapia Production Sharing Contract (PSC) off the coast of Cameroon. The 3875 km² block is located within the Douala Basin, offshore southwest Cameroon in water depths ranging from the shoreline to 1100 m. Under the agreement, Woodside will acquire a 30% non-operating interest. Noble Energy will retain a 46.67% interest and will continue to operate the PSC. Glencore will retain a 23.33% interest. The Joint Venture plans to drill the Cheetah exploration well in 2015. Woodside CEO Peter Coleman said the Douala Basin represented an exciting opportunity with demonstrated oil prospectivity.

Nordic Maritime, a leading offshore service operator, today announced a five year time charter for its DP2 IMR Subsea vessel, Mokul Nordic, which has been awarded by Noble Energy, the international energy provider. “At Nordic Maritime, we are delighted to have won this long term charter contract directly with a highly reputed international oil company, Noble Energy. This is a major achievement for us and together with our co-owner of this vessel, MDL Energy, we see this as a potential to grow our fleet of medium size IMR Subsea vessels in the years going forward” said Kjell Gauksheim, Executive Director of Nordic Maritime . More than a dozen U.S. oil producers have joined to lobby the federal government to reverse the 40-year-old ban on U.S. crude exports, a move that supporters hope would create jobs and boost national security, a spokesman for one of the companies and a lobbyist for another one said on Friday. Producers for American Crude Oil Exports, or PACE, is the first lobbying group to form on reversing the ban. "The end game here is legislative repeal of the ban," said a lobbyist for one of the member producers, who did not want to be named because the group was only recently formed. Congress passed the trade restriction in the 1970s after the Arab oil embargo caused fears of domestic oil shortages.

Some of the hedge fund industry's most respected firms made bigger bets on a wide swatch of energy companies during the third quarter only to watch the stocks get pummeled by falling crude oil prices. Robert Citrone's Discovery Capital Management raised its holding in Texas oil driller Diamondback Energy by 20 percent to own 1.4 million shares at the end of the third quarter, according to a regulatory filing made with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Diamondback's stock price fell 16 percent over the quarter. The fund manager also raised its bet on oil and gas exploration and production company Cimarex Energy by 37 percent. The stock dropped 11 percent over the quarter.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu called on Friday for an agreement over exploiting hydrocarbon deposits in the eastern Mediterranean, an issue that caused the breakdown of peace talks between Greek and Turkish Cypriots in October. Greek Cypriots say Turkey sent a research vessel to collect seismic data in disputed waters off the divided island of Cyprus where the Nicosia government was also exploring. The comments came during a visit by Davutoglu to Athens, as part of a two-day annual event to boost ties between the Greece and Turkey, two neighbouring countries have long been embroiled in disputes over territory, energy exploration and Cyprus. "We will continue with the bilateral talks ... we need to go deeper and find a solution.
