Caterpillar CFO to Retire in 2018

Caterpillar Inc. will begin its global, external search for a new chief financial officer after it announced that group president and CFO Brad Halverson has elected to retire in early 2018, concluding a career spanning more than three decades with the company. Halverson will continue working into early 2018 and will help ensure a smooth transition for the new CFO. Prior to becoming CFO, Halverson served two years as vice president of the Finance Services Division, and before that position, he was the corporate controller. Halverson joined Caterpillar in 1988 as an accountant.

Globus Maritime Appoints New Non Executive Director

Globus Maritime Limited, a dry bulk shipping company, announced today that Dimitrios Stratikopoulos has resigned from its Board of Directors due to other recent pressing business commitments with the resignation taking effect immediately. The Board of Directors has appointed Ioannis Kazantzidis to the Board to replace  Stratikopoulos as an independent Class I, non-executive director effective today. Additionally and on the same day, Kazantzidis has been also appointed to the Company's Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees. Ioannis Kazantzidis has over 40 years of experience in the Information Technology Banking and Finance sector.

Daintith Named CFO, Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce announced that Stephen Daintith has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and as an executive director of Rolls-Royce Holdings plc. Stephen will take up his new role in 2017, succeeding David Smith who will leave Rolls-Royce after three years to pursue other business interests. Stephen Daintith is currently Chief Financial Officer of Daily Mail & General Trust plc. Previously he was employed by News International as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer of Dow Jones & Co. His earlier career was spent working internationally in a number of senior positions at British American Tobacco, also at Forte, the Civil Aviation Authority and PriceWaterhouse Coopers.

SpecTec to Purchase 20% MarineXchange

SpecTec Group, IT supplier to the merchant and cruise shipping markets, has recently acquired a 20% share in MarineXChange Software GmbH. MarineXchange is a provider of enterprise resource management software to the cruise industry. "The two companies have collaborated for several years already, and our software portfolios and philosophies complement each other very well", said Giampiero Soncini, CEO of SpecTec Group. MarineXchange software can also be used for the food and beverage management of large fleets, as well as for land based hotels. MarineXchange software runs at the office and remote installations such as ships, hotels and warehouses. The software provides tools to collect and retain data, automate processes and share data across an entire organization.

DHS Budget Request Up 6.8%

President Bush’s fiscal year 2009 budget request for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) represents $50.5 billion in funding, which is an increase of 6.8 percent over the 2008 fiscal year level – excluding funds provided in emergency supplemental funding. The request targets five areas, detailed in the following release of information from the DHS. The Department of Homeland Security’s main priority is to prevent terrorist attacks against the nation and to protect our nation from dangerous people. DHS will continue to prevent the entry of terrorists while facilitating the legitimate flow of people by strengthening border security efforts and continuing to gain effective control of America’s borders.

Northrop Names Leukhardt CFO for NN

Northrop Grumman Corporation's Newport News sector announced the appointment of Linda Leukhardt as sector vice president of business management and chief financial officer. Leukhardt, 43, is responsible for the financial systems, programs and processes that ensure the successful accomplishment of the sector's business objectives. DNV Joins Forces With IFS Norway

IFS Norway and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) have agreed to combine their maritime know how and technology to develop an IT solution for the international maritime market. The solution will become the first of its kind on the global market and is initially focues on ensuring stable and safe operations of oil production vessels offshore- Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSOs). DNV Software and Industrial & Financial Systems Norway ASA (IFS) will present a prototype at a conference in Spain in one month. The software solution combines DNV’s solutions for design and strength assessment of FPSOs with the ERP business applications suite, IFS Applications. Seabulk International Appoints CFO

Seabulk International, Inc. announced the election of Vincent J. deSostoa as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. deSostoa, who most recently served as President and Chief Financial Officer of Zeosoft Corporation, will report directly to Seabulk's President and Chief Executive Officer, Gerhard E. MRG Promotes Sandaas to CFO

Marine Resources Group announced that Kirstin Sandaas has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer and Kevin Orstad has joined the company in the position of Group Controller. Sandaas joined MRG in the spring of 2004, and since that time has worked closely with the financial and operating divisions at the MRG group of companies. Her contributions include assisting in two corporate acquisitions, implementing an MRG-wide 401(k) program and assessing enterprise-wide systems solutions. Prior to joining MRG she held the position of Director of Finance at Sea Coast Towing. She served as Finance Manager at Optiva, makers of the sonicare toothbrush, working as an integral part of the team that helped sell the company to Philips Electronics.
