Calecore continues strong Norwegian presence with recent contract awards from three majors, including imminent works with ABB

Calecore has been contracted by ABB to supply a pre-lay survey of the Martin Linge PFS (Power from Shore) cable route to be conducted from the DP2 class vessel Seabed Worker with survey sensors mobilized to a 150HP Schilling HD WROV.

The Martin Linge Field is located on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and the vessel will be mobilizing from Bergen, Norway in March 2015.

The pre-lay survey consists of an ROV visual and magnetic survey along the 163 km center line.  The PFS cable, which, when installed shall be the world’s longest HV AC submarine cable.

Water depths along the route range from less than 30m in the near shore zone to approximately 300m.  At the Martin Linge platform the water depth is 114m LAT.

This follows two additional contract awards from new Norwegian clients with works also commencing from March onwards from the company’s multi-role survey vessel Kommandor Calum.

The Kommandor Calum also has the capability to undertake WROV operations, with successful projects completed in the Central North Sea during 2014.

Closer to home the Highland Spirit is preparing to depart the U.K. for Dutch waters for a 3 x 30m geotechnical borehole program.

While in port, the vessel has undergone her annual maintenance program, and thanks to the hard work of our in-house team, namely Jim Burrell, Graham Bruton and Dave Holman, she has been restored.
