OW Bunker Acquires Wilhelmsen Marine Fuels

OW Bunker, a physical distributor and reseller of marine fuels, today announced that it has acquired marine fuel broker Wilhelmsen Marine Fuels, a subsidiary of Norwegian Wilhelmsen Maritime Services, for an undisclosed sum. Wilhelmsen Marine Fuels’ main activity is broking services from offices in Oslo, London and Singapore, servicing customers on a global basis, but with a key presence in Singapore and the ARA-region (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp). Executive Vice President, Götz Lehsten, OW Bunker, commented, “Wilhelmsen Marine Fuels has a strong team and an interesting customer base that fits well into OW Bunker’s integrated business model.

GAC Bunker Fuels Appoints new US Bunker Manage

GAC Bunker Fuels, part of global shipping, logistics and marine services provider GAC, has announced the appointment of Maurice Lara as its Bunker Manager for East Coast USA. He is based in Norwalk, Connecticut and accountable to Nicholas Browne, Global Director of GAC Bunker Fuels, and Bob Bandos, Managing Director of GAC USA. Lara's background is in marine fuel trading, domestic and international logistics, vessel chartering and negotiating charter party agreements and end-to-end commodity transportation.

OceanConnect.com And Clarksons Agree On Bunker Business

OceanConnect.com, the global online marketplace for the purchase and sale of marine fuels, products and services has entered into a joint marketing and services agreement with integrated shipping services group H. Clarkson & Co., effective March 31. The operating alliance between the two companies combines the transparent marketplace of online auctions with the personal service and post fixture support of a leading marine fuel broker. This alliance, which offers a variety of new options transaction options, was developed in response to customer feedback. Several new transaction options are now offered, such as the ability to log on to OceanConnect.com and transact business without any further assistance.
