Lloyd's Register (LR) unveils a refreshed brand identity, with the introduction of a new logo that celebrates the culture of innovation built over the company’s 253-year history. Lloyd's Register Committed to Strengthen Position in India

Lloyd's Register, an independent quality and risk assurance firm, highlighted the momentum seen by the company in India. Mark Stokes - Group Communications Director for Lloyd's Register and R.S. Lloyd's Register to support Maersk FPSO

Lloyd’s Register EMEA has been awarded the global contract to provide Maersk FPSOs with a comprehensive suite of technical services to assure the reliable operation of its fleet of floating oil and gas production units which serves some of the world's biggest offshore fields. The multi-year agreement will require the combined expertise of the energy and marine teams at Lloyd's Register to deliver a suite of technical services -- including integrity and inspection management, classification, verification and engineering support -- to help ensure safe and sustainable operations. There is an option to extend beyond the original contract period.

Offshore Rig Survey Covers More NPT Factors

Athens Group and ModuSpec announced their co-sponsorship of the industry survey The State of Non-Productive Time on Highly-Automated Offshore Rigs: Second Annual Benchmarking Study. Per last year’s survey, lack of the right skill set was the number one organizational barrier to reducing non-productive time challenges. Scarcity of qualified resources will become an even more critical issue in 2010 and 2011 as more newbuilds undergo commissioning than in any previous two year period. So this year’s survey has been expanded to gather more benchmarking data on what drilling contractors and operators are doing to address this challenge. Lloyd’s Register Reports Strong Performance

In his report on the accounts for the year ended June 30, 2008, David Moorhouse, Chairman of Lloyd’s Register, has announced that Group income rose by 19.6% to $893m (2006/07: $747.5m) with a marginal increase in surplus before tax generally in line with the budgeted target. The budgeted surplus for the year allowed for a significant increase in spending on projects and personnel in support of the Group’s medium and long term business objectives. “Following very strong growth in 2007, I am pleased to be able to report another year of strong underlying financial performance in 2008. While the recent global financial chaos had little effect on our results for the year to June 2008, it is clear that next year will pose a significant challenge to the Group.
