Inmarsat, Maersk Supply Service Strike Deal for Fleet Xpress Digital Portfolio

Inmarsat, the mobile satellite communications provider, has extended its Fleet Xpress service agreement with offshore vessel owner Maersk Supply Service. The extension includes fleet-wide IoT-based ship management connectivity on separate, dedicated bandwidths. Sperry Marine and DNV GL signed a strategic agreement to enable vessels to securely share their navigation data for use in DNV GL's digital classification services and obtain real-time class status of the navigation systems.The agreement seeks to improve process efficiency for class surveys covering the core elements of vessel navigation, through co-operation on new digital solutions. Evans Cooling Inks Agreement With South African Firm

Evans Cooling Systems Inc., building on their global brand of waterless engine coolants, announced an alliance with Corrosion and Scale Control (CSC) in Cape Town, South Africa. With this newly formed alliance, CSC has formed Evans Cooling Systems (Pty) Ltd (Evans SA) to market the Evans range of waterless engine coolants throughout the Southern African region. Evans initially developed and patented waterless engine coolants to solve overheating problems in high- performance applications. Their recent expansion into the heavy duty diesel industry and stationary engines has provided fuel-saving strategies and increased performance capabilities. Evans coolants also reduce maintenance costs, never need replacement, and are environmentally-friendly.

Evans Cooling Systems, Strategic alliance with Hydra Tech

Evans Cooling Systems, Inc. announced a strategic alliance with Hydra Technologies Limited (Hydratech), to manufacture and market Evans unique range of waterless engine coolants in the UK and Ireland. Evans developed and patented waterless engine coolants to solve overheating problems in high performance applications and heavy duty diesel trucks, and recently expanded into the stationary engine industry. Evans coolants improve fuel economy, reduce maintenance costs, increase performance are environmentally friendly and never need replacement. Following the alliance Hydratech have formed Evans Cooling Systems UK (Evans UK) to market the waterless engine coolants throughout the UK and Ireland.

First Kongsberg K-Chief 600 Equipped Vessel Delivered

The first vessel to sail with Kongsberg Maritime's new K-Chief 600 marine automation system was delivered to its owner on 10th January 2010. The Korean Built VLCC features an extensive Kongsberg Maritime package, led by the K-Chief 600 with integrated Vessel Performance System (VPS), which supports reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions. Outboard Engines

Iveco Motors Of North America, a subsidiary of Iveco Motors is making waves in the marine industry with the introduction of the NEF 370, the first engine in its new line of marine engines for the pleasure craft industry, from the NEF series of diesel engines. The six cylinder, high performance NEF 370 model features an electronic common rail fuel injection system. With 370 hp and weighing just 1,312 lbs, this engine has a power to weight ratio of 3.54lbs/hp. In addition, the design of the four-stroke NEF engine requires less routine maintenance. "Diesel is becoming the preferred choice in marine power as manufacturers and boaters alike realize the benefits," says Vincenzo Perrone, General Manager of Iveco Motors of North America.
