PortVision Appoints Perduto

PortVision has appointed James Perduto as Director of Transportation and Government Business Development. Based in N.Y., James assumes responsibility for business development for the company's enterprise software solutions and PortVision, a web-based platform that provides visibility and reporting for global commercial AIS vessel tracking activities. A veteran mariner and maritime transportation executive, James has had extensive business development experience in the maritime transportation industry. Most recently, James served as Vice-President of Sales for a maritime software solutions provider and prior to that, as Vice-President of North American Marketing and Customer Service for a large roll-on/roll-off steamship company. In addition, James has held leadership positions in the U.S.

Free SUNY Maritime Conference

SUNY Maritime College will present the College’s 5th Annual Conference on Cutting Edge Issues in Shipping, Tuesday, February 2, 2010, the “Tiv,” McMurray Hall, Maritime College, Throggs Neck, N.Y. Admission to the day-long seminar is free and it is hosted by the Maritime College Department of Global Business and Transportation. The day will begin with a complimentary continental breakfast at 8:00 a.m. There will be morning and afternoon sessions. Austin L. Dooley, President of the Society of Maritime Arbitrators, will present the keynote address at 1 p.m. Additional speakers include: Brite Gu, of Logistics Pan America, at 8:45 a.m., discussing the impact of recent economic times on the business of non-vessel owning common carriers…

Perduto VP N American Sales ,ShipDecision

Veteran mariner and maritime transportation executive James Perduto has been appointed to lead the North American sales initiatives for ShipDecision technology. Based in N.Y., James assumes responsibility for spearheading sales of the company’s web-based business information management solution, both in the United States and Canada. Perduto has extensive business development experience in the maritime transportation industry, most recently as Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service for Höegh Autoliners Inc. in N.Y. In addition to his commercial background James has held leadership positions as a U.S. Navy Commander while mobilized with The Joint Chiefs of Staff and a Military Sealift Command Expeditionary Port Unit.
