Supplier of integrated solutions for navigation, communication and connectivity PRONAUTAS has expanded its European and Asian operations into North America with a new office located in Charlottesville, Virginia with main service station in Houston. The official launch will take place at CMA Shipping 2015. According to PRONAUTAS, the opening of the new office reflects its continued global growth and demonstrates the company’s commitment to ensuring local assets are available throughout the American shipping industry. PRONAUTAS provides integrated solutions for navigation, communication and connectivity with more than 200 connectivity contracts, more than 330 newbuilding projects and more than 120 vessels on service and maintenance contracts.

Pronautas B.V. GmbH announced that its connectivity solution has been selected by Caiano Shipping III AS (Norway) for 11 Green Reefers vessels. Pronautas will provide a total turnkey connectivity solution comprising Sailor VSAT 900B antenna, Astrium’s Airtime and Xchange box, and PRONAUTAS’ uncompromising system and customer support solution. Pronautas said its system provides global coverage for airtime availability, a seamless switching between Ku- and L-band terminals, full control of communication usage and cost control, wireless LAN access onboard, VOIP lines for business and crew calling and billing functionality. The VSAT terminal is upgradeable from Ku-Band to Ka-Band.

PRONAUTAS and Jan De Nul Group have announced a new partnership to roll out an ECDIS implementation program on board Jan De Nul vessels. PRONAUTAS will deliver and install Transas Navi-Sailor 4000 ECDIS in Premium configuration with radar overlay. Jan De Nul Group operates a modern and diverse dredging fleet. The fleet includes a number of powerful self-propelled cutter suction dredgers and largest trailing suction hopper dredgers in the world. Jan De Nul’s decision to select PRONAUTAS as a supplier of ECDIS was based on value for money.

Dutch shipping company CFL has chosen Pronautas to implement the proven Ku-Band VSAT connectivity solutions on all vessels in their fleet. Headquartered in Amsterdam and well known for its innovative market approach, CFL owns and operates a fleet of young and flexible eco-friendly multi-purpose vessels. Pronautas was selected to provide the VSAT solution thanks to its experience and competence in connectivity solutions, satellite communications, navigation systems and full service support. The decision for a fleet-wide roll out was made by CFL after a successful three-month trial period.

PRONAUTAS said it is enjoying continued success in the Maritime Connectivity market, securing more than 120 connectivity contracts in the last 12 months alone. The company attributed the success to the introduction of the Total Solution package, combining a ship-to-shore connectivity service with airtime provision, accounting authority services, radio registration, service and maintenance for communication and navigation equipment. Operating on a one-stop-shop principle, PRONAUTAS’ Ships IT Solutions are supported by its in-house Connectivity Support Centre for remote maintenance. Implemented projects include installations of VSAT, FleetBroadband and Existing & Evolved Terminals such as Fleet 77/55/33.

In partnership with PRO NAUTAS and Vizada, Thrane & Thrane has completed delivery of its sophisticated SAILOR 900 VSAT and SAILOR 500 FleetBroadband systems as part of a total communications solution for Hansa Heavy Lift’s entire fleet of 21 multipurpose heavy-lift vessels. Installation and commissioning is expected to be completed on all vessels in July 2012. Based on the Vizada XChange platform with project implementation by PRO-NAUTAS, the SAILOR 900 VSAT and SAILOR 500 FleetBroadband together ensure fully redundant global broadband connectivity and voice services.

Pro Nautus GmbH and Transas Marine GmbH signed a major ECDIS contract. Transas has been one of main Pro Nautas’ suppliers since its inception. This long term association has now been strengthened with a contract to supply 86 electronic chart display and information systems (ECDIS), for installation onboard newbuilds and for retrofit during 2009/2010. Leer (Germany)-based company Pro Nautas is a leading system integrator for marine electronics and has supplied bridge equipment to over 275 newbuild vessels during recent years.

Rutter Technologies said that together with its German dealer and service agent, Pro Nautas B.V. it will deliver 50 Voyage Data Recorders (VDR) to the Buss Shipping Group.
