Maritime Professional Magazine Debuts at CMA

Tuesday, March 22, 2011
By Joseph Keefe, lead commentator of MaritimeProfessional.com and Managing Editor of Maritime Professional, print edition

Maritime Risk is the tight focus of the first edition of Maritime Professional magazine; the maritime industry’s newest and most exciting periodical print vehicle. That’s because MarPro – as we fondly refer to it in-house here at the New Wave media group – is set to take you and your clients places that they’ve never been before. And, although we provide the digital edition of this 64-page, information packed magazine for your preview (click here for digital edition), the print edition will also make its debut at the 2011 Connecticut Maritime Association show in Stamford, on 21 March. The waterfront’s print genre will never be the same.

Borne from the enormous success of our online website of the same name, MarPro leverages the power of almost 14,000 online members and the combined following of the New Wave media stable of magazines (Maritime Reporter & Engineering News, MarineNews and Marine Technology Reporter – as well as four other industry websites that penetrate every aspect of the maritime industry). If you are concerned with risk – financial, physical or operational – then Maritime Professional’s first edition is the one item you will be sure to want to take home from the CMA show. If you won’t be able to make it to Stamford next week, you can still get your own copy by signing up to subscribe (click here to subscribe).

Maritime Professional – 2Q 2011 – Energy Transportation defined

A well-supported first edition set the table for the next MarPro edition. Hot on the heels of our 1Q MarPro magazine comes our second quarter 2011 edition which will focus on Energy Transportation and all of the variables that impact that segment of our industry. There’s plenty going on to fill it out. There is also plenty of time for you to get involved. Beyond the obvious editorial focus, our "Energy and Transportation Resource Guide," providing an overview of services, software and safety products available to industry will be a must-read, as well as an easy, cost-effective and convenient entry point for firms trying to spread the good word.

This is also a good time to nominate a colleague, friend, or peer for recognition in the pages of Maritime Professional Magazine. Submit your recommendation for the featured "Energy Transportation Maritime Professional" by March 31st, and you could see your nominee profiled in the 2Q Edition of Maritime Professional Magazine.

Managing Editor Joe Keefe will be available for three full days of the CMA show to answer questions and of course, take in your thoughts and appraisals of our first quarter effort. Our first edition covers the world of maritime risk from top to bottom. Arguably, there will be no better venue to unveil its power than that of CMA’s Shipping 2011 program.
