Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar JV is 5

On 23 November 2015, Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar celebrated its first 5 years of operation. With 40 vessels delivered or under construction, the yard has proven its capability to support Qatar’s national strategy for economic diversification. Damen Chief Commercial Officer Arnout Damen. NDSQ was established in 2010 as a joint venture between Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd. (Nakilat) and Damen Shipyards Group. Located in the northeastern corner of Qatar, the yard is ideally positioned in the middle of the Arabian Gulf and able to build ships up to 170 metres in length in steel, aluminium and composites. By building these vessels in Qatar, Mr Damen says that NDSQ is supporting the economic diversification and development strategy in the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Emir of Qatar Inaugurates Pearl GTL Project

His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, The Emir of Qatar officially inaugurated the Pearl Gas to Liquids (GTL) Project, the largest GTL plant in the world and the largest energy project in the state of Qatar. Visiting dignitaries including HRH Prince Andrew, The Duke of York, toured the facility and were briefed on the state-of-the-art technologies used to convert natural gas resources from Qatar’s North Field into high quality liquid fuels and products that will be sold at premium all over the world. Pearl GTL has been jointly developed by Qatar Petroleum and Shell creating an additional route for Qatar to generate value from its enormous supply of gas.

Provision of Harbor Tugs, Port of Mesaieed

Nakilat, on behalf of Nakilat–Damen Shipyards Qatar (N-DSQ) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Qatar Petroleum for the provision of 19 vessels including harbor tugs, pilot and service boats at the port of Mesaieed. On October 15 2009, Qatar Petroleum’s Directorate, Mesaieed Industrial City, issued a tender for the provision of harbor tugs, pilot and service boats at Mesaieed Port. Subject to the outcome of the tender, the successful bidder will be obliged to build all the vessels required for the contract at the N-DSQ facilities at the Port of Ras Laffan. ExxonMobil, Qatar Petroleum Progress LNG Project

In a joint statement issued at the conclusion of an inauguration ceremony held in Doha, Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil Ras Laffan (III) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, announced the launch of Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited (RL3). RL3 is a further expansion of the existing LNG production facilities operated by RasGas Company Limited (Qatar Petroleum 70 percent; ExxonMobil 30 percent) at Ras Laffan Industrial city in North Eastern Qatar. This project is planned to bring the total number of trains operated by RasGas to seven (Trains 1 and 2 in RL, 3 through 5 in RL II and 6 and 7 in RL 3) and is expected to increase RasGas LNG production capacity by more than 70 percent. Full-chain investment in RL 3 is estimated at near $14 billion.
