Shell, Qatargas Sign LNG Deal for Kuwait

The world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer Qatargas has signed a new, long-term LNG sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with Shell to deliver 1 million tons per annum of LNG to Kuwait, commencing this year.Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs said, “We are pleased to announce this new long term agreement between Qatargas and Shell for the supply of LNG to the State of Kuwait, following the recent agreement signed between Qatar Petroleum and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. Qatargas Delivers First Q-Max Cargo to Thailand

Qatargas delivered the first Q-Max cargo of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) under the long-term Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) between Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited - 3 (Qatargas 3) and PTT Public Company Limited to the Kingdom of Thailand’s Map Ta Phut LNG receiving terminal. The cargo arrived on board the Q-Max LNG vessel, Bu Samra, on 5th August. This is the first Q-Max vessel to arrive at Map Ta Phut terminal since the startup of the terminal in 2011, when Qatargas delivered the first commissioning cargo to Thailand’s first LNG receiving terminal Map Ta Phut. Since then, Qatargas has supplied PTT with approximately 9 million tons of LNG, delivering  most of these cargoes via Q-Flex vessels.

Qatargas Signs 5-year UK LNG Supply Contract

Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited (Qatargas) and Petronas LNG (UK) Limited  have signed a 5-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) for shipment of an annual LNG volume of 1.14 million tones, to the UK, effective January 2014. The LNG will be supplied from Qatargas 4 (Train 7), a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and Shell which started production in January 2011, and will be delivered on board Q-Flex LNG Vessels to Petronas’ Dragon LNG Terminal located in Milford Haven, United Kingdom. QGTC Awarded Charters for Six LNG Carriers

Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd. (Nakilat) announced that it has been awarded 25 year time charters by Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited (II), (QGII) for six 'QMax' LNG carriers of approximately 265,000 cubic meters carrying capacity each. These will be the largest LNG carriers ever constructed. According to AME Info, the ships will be ordered from Korean shipyards Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering and Samsung Heavy Industries. QGII intends to use the vessels to transport LNG from its train numbers 4 and 5, which will each have a production of 7.8 million tons/year. The vessels- once delivered from the shipyards- will be placed on long term charter to QGII beginning mid-2008, and their delivered cost will be approximately $300 million each.
