Asia Demand to Drive Cheniere's LNG Shipments this Year

Cheniere Energy expects to ship more liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Asia this year, after European customers took the lion's share of its 2022 cargoes, an official said on Monday.The top U.S. exporter of LNG shipped a total of 638 cargoes last year, with slightly over 70% delivered to Europe, Chief Operating Officer Corey Grindal said at the CERAWeek energy conference.Cheniere last year gave the financial go ahead for an expansion of its Corpus Christi, Texas, liquefaction plant and has sought an early environmental review with federal regulators for an expansion at its Sabine Pass…

Fire-damaged Freeport LNG Receives Approval for Partial Restart

Freeport LNG, the second largest U.S. liquefied natural gas exporter, said on Tuesday it had received regulatory approval to restart commercial operations at its Texas processing plant.The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved the partial restart of two liquefaction trains, two tanks, and one loop and dock each, a filing showed on Tuesday. Tankers Divert to Trinidad, Maryland After Freeport LNG Blast

At least six tankers set to load liquefied natural gas (LNG) at Freeport LNG this month have been diverted following the June 8 blast that shut the Texas facility, Refinitiv Eikon vessel tracking data showed.A partial restart of the Quintana, Texas, plant is not expected until at least September, the company said last week, leaving about 40 cargoes to be canceled or re-scheduled. The loss has European LNG buyers and some U.S. shale producers reeling, while rivals Cheniere Energy and Sempra LNG rush to produce more LNG to offset the losses.Freeport accounts for roughly 20% of U.S. LNG processing capacity, drawing 2.1 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) of natural gas, primarily from U.S. shale fields.

Cargill Loads Soy in Texas After Ida Damages Louisiana Terminal

The first bulk U.S. soybean cargo from the Texas Gulf Coast in about six months was loaded and shipped last week from a Cargill Inc terminal, in a sign of shifting trade flows in the wake of Hurricane Ida, traders and shipping sources said.The vessel Spar Rigel was loaded early last week with about 55,000 tonnes of soybeans at Cargill's Houston terminal, an outlet that typically loads mostly wheat and sorghum grown nearby, according to a shipping vessel lineup seen by Reuters.The uncommon shipment is the first of several soybean cargoes expected to load at Cargill's Texas facility this autumn after one of the company's two terminals at the Louisiana Gulf Coast - the country's top outlet for corn and soy shipped down the Mississippi River - was severely damaged by Ida on Aug.

Kirby Christens ATB in New Orleans

Inland and coastal giant christens ATB duo Jason E. Duttinger and Winna Wilson in an October New Orleans ceremony. The crew of the Jason E. Duttinger took a break from hauling coal between Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, and Florida on Oct. 30 as Kirby Corp. of Houston christened the articulated tug-and-barge unit in New Orleans at the dock of the Hilton Riverside Hotel. Both units were named in honor of two special individuals. Jason Duttinger was a senior transportation specialist at North Carolina-based Duke Energy when he died of cancer in 2011.

Signal International Lands Hopper Dredge Deal

Articulated Tug & Barge ("ATB") Trailing Suction Hopper Dredge.

Signal International, Inc., has landed a $94 million contract from Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation, (GLDD) to build an Articulated Tug & Barge ("ATB") Trailing Suction Hopper Dredge. The 15,000-cubic-yard-capacity Dual Trailing Arm Suction Hopper Dredge with a 14,000-horsepower tug is believed to be the world’s first fully integrated ATB Dredge and the largest hopper dredge in the United States. The dredge barge dimensions are 410 ft x 92 ft x 36 ft (124.97m x 15.85 x 10.97m) with the tug measuring 150 ft x 52 ft x 36 ft (45.72m x 15.85 x 10.97m).

HB Rentals’ Eagle Ford Contract & New Texas Facility

Onsite accommodation specialist, HB Rentals, a Superior Energy Services company, has opened an additional facility in Texas and has been awarded a one-year contract to provide onsite living quarters with offices for four rigs operating in the Eagle Ford shale play in South Texas. The additional facility is located in Laredo, Texas. This yard was strategically added in order to support customers’ needs to provide the highest level of support and equipment in the Eagle Ford shale region. Signal Dock - Thunder Hawk Hull Repair

Pride awards Mad Dog contract

Pride International awarded Signal International LLC a contract to outfit and integrate the drilling equipment for BP's Mad Dog truss spar production facility in Green Canyon Block 782. The drilling support module (DSM) for Mad Dog arrived at Signal's Port Arthur, Texas, facility on Feb. 1. The derrick equipment set will be mated to the DSM following its scheduled mid-March arrival at the facility. The unit will then be integrated and commissioned with final load-out and redelivery anticipated in mid-May. Pride is operator of the drilling rig. J. Ray McDermott is constructing the 16-slot truss spar, which will include the rig, production equipment and permanent quarters for drilling and production personnel.

Conrad Industries to Barges for Foss Maritime

Conrad Industries, Inc., announced the signing of a contract with Foss Maritime Company for three 35,000 bbl. double skin barges that will be equipped as bunkering barges for their west coast operations. These 290 x 62 x 18 barges will be built at the company’s Orange, Texas facility. “These state of the art bunker barges will provide an unsurpassed level of environmental protection in the harbors they will serve. With double hulls, vapor canisters to process cargo emissions and a gauging system that provides three levels of redundant overfill protection, our expert crews will have the best possible tools to deliver our customers fuel oil safely,” said Gary Faber, President & Chief Operating Officer of Foss Maritime Company.

R&R Begins Building Modules for Harrah's

R&R Marine Fabrication and Drydock has begun construction of two specialty hull modules for Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. Arthur, Texas facility. renovation and expansion of its Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, IN. The keel for the first hull module was laid on August 8, 2006. completed, each module will measure 276 x 102 ft. and 22 ft. deep, weighing approximately 1,700 tons. The modules will be combined with four others being built elsewhere into a 564 foot long, 320 foot wide, and 22-ft. deep casino vessel. Signal Awarded TARZAN CLASS

Signal International, L.L.C. signed a contract with LeTourneau, Inc. to build a TARZAN CLASS jackup drill rig. LeTourneau is procuring the rig, the fourth TARZAN CLASS rig built for Rowan Companies, Inc., its parent corporation. Under the terms of the contract, LeTourneau will provide a license to Signal International and furnish the engineering and component kit for the elevating system, including, 445’ leg length. LeTourneau Ellis Williams Company, Inc., also a subsidiary of Rowan Companies Inc., will provide the drilling equipment package. Stim Star Performs Stimulation Treatment

Halliburton Energy Services' well vessel, M/V Stim Star, was used to stimulate production from one well at Shell Offshore Inc.'s Ursa deepwater development in the Gulf of Mexico, southeast of New Orleans. Bettering the previously set record, which was also a Halliburton completion, one of the wells at the Ursa tension leg platform has produced more than 50,000 bpd to become the Gulf of Mexico's highest production rate well in history. Located in 3,800 ft. of water, the well has out-produced the previous record-setting well by almost 4,000 bpd. Using Halliburton's seawater-based Delta FracPac service, Stim Star personnel performed the treatment at a rate of 38 bbl/min through two flexible hoses connected to the rig, putting 95,000 lbs. of proppant into the formation.
