MOL Earns Highest Rating for SMBC Sustainability Assessment Loans

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. today announced that the company has received the highest rating for SMBC Sustainability Assessment Loans from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. The loan program evaluates corporate actions such as disclosure of environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) information and initiatives on sustainability, based on unique assessment criteria developed by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Japan Research Institute, Limited, and sets loan conditions based on the results the evaluation. NHMS Officials Visit MOL’s SOSC

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. welcomed five visitors from The National Hydro-Meteorological Service of Vietnam (NHMS), and hosted a tour of the company’s innovative Safety Operation Supporting Center (SOSC). The NHMS is a national institute responsible for weather forecasting and supports Vietnam’s weather-related business activities. During the tour, MOL personnel explained how the center provides weather information to MOL-operated vessels at sea as well as its land-based operations. The visitors were eager to know about the type of weather information the SOSC provides for vessels and the information the center receives from vessels.

RBR Joins Smart Ocean Sensor Consortium

RBR has joined the Smart Ocean Sensor Consortium (SOSC) as a founding member. The SOSC is a group of key manufacturers and users of Oceanographic instruments dedicated to improving the reliability, utility and cost-effectiveness of hydrographic sensor networks through the adoption, development, and promotion of appropriate standard interfaces and protocols. Manufacturing members will supply a universal unique identifier (UUID) with each compliant instrument, and will comply with a group-defined interface to retrieve the UUID from the device's serial port.
