Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

September 8, 2015

The Danish shipping company Maersk Line informed its customers that it will introduce a new code of surcharge controlled atmosphere (SatarCare) to containers with refrigerated goods, from next September 15.

This surcharge, according to the shipping company, will be implemented as part of its periodic review of surcharges, which begin to take effect in subsequent bills to 15 September shipments.

"This charge does not represent a change in the rate for these services only is a different way of showing the amount we charge for our services, "states the document.

The scope of the new surcharges totaled products such as bananas from Mexico to the world, the rate is $ 950 per 40-foot refrigerated (FEU) container. It will also be 500 thousand dollars per FEU whose content consists of avocado and asparagus from Mexico to the world.

The shipping company has reported that due to its regular review of costs, from next October 5th intermodal rates will change in some corridors for import and export, but did not elaborate, so customers should contact Maersk Line representatives.
