Capital Product Partners Move Forward with $3.1B Acquisition of 11 LNG Carriers

EDF Charters Fourth LNG Carrier from NYK

NYK-affiliated company France LNG Shipping has secured a long-term charter contract for a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier with EDF LNG Shipping SAS. The newly built LNG carrier is scheduled for delivery in 2025 from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. This is the fourth NYK vessel on a long-term time-charter contract with the EDF Group.The newly built LNG carrier will be propelled by a WinGD-built, dual-fuel slow-speed diesel engine. The carrier will also feature an Air Liquide–manufactured*** Turbo-Brayton refrigeration system that can tap surplus boil-off gas.

NYK signed a multi-year time-charter contract with GAIL (India) Limited, India's largest natural gas company, for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier. Grace Emilia, the vessel that will be chartered, is equipped with a WinGD-made dual-fuel slow-speed X-DF diesel engine, a unit that has superior fuel-consumption efficiency and can operate on marine gas oil or boil off gas stored in the cargo tank. Shipbuilding: LNG Carrier Diamond Gas Crystal Delivered

On May 31, the liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier Diamond Gas Crystal, was delivered, built to transport LNG from LNG Canada project in British Columbia, as well as from other locations around the world, under an 18-year time-charter contract with Diamond Gas International Pte. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) who also has a stake in the LNG Canada project.The ship was built at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and is owned by NYK, Asia LNG Transport Dua Sdn. WE Tech to Equip Six Shell LNG Carriers

WE Tech Solutions said Tuesday it has been awarded a contract to equip six additional newbuild liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers that will be chartered to Shell.The Finnish firm said it will deliver six shipsets of its Solution One for the 174,000m³ capacity LNG carriers, which are chartered to energy major Shell LNG via the owners Knutsen OAS Shipping, J.P.Morgan Asset Management and Korea Line Corporation. HHI Projects a Revenue of $15.9Bn in 2020

South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) Group, which includes the world's largest shipyard, aims for a revenue of USD 15.9 billion in 2020.Yonhap News Agency said the combined target of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. remains unchanged from last year’s goal.HHI said it aims to bag $8 billion worth of deals in 2020, according to the report.Hyundai Mipo Dockyard said in a regulatory filing that it aims to clinch deals worth $3.65 billion this year.In 2019, Hyundai Mipo Dockyard won orders worth $2.7 billion, achieving 76 percent of its annual order target of $3.53 billion.Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries said it aims to secure orders worth $4.25 billion this year.

HHI Wins $293M Newbuild Order

H-Line Orders LNG bulkers at Samho

Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co (HSHI), the Korea supplier of ship, tanker ship, bulk carriers ship, container ship, LNG ship, said it has clinched a deal to build two bulkers fueled by liquefied natural gas (LNG).According to a Yonhap report, under the deal with H-Line Shipping Co., a midsize South Korean shipper, Hyundai Samho will build two 180,000-ton vessels, which will be used on a route between South Korea and Australia starting in 2022.HSHI has not revealed the value of the deal, it said.According to the report, this is the second time that H-Line has placed an order for LNG-fueled vessels with Hyundai Samho Heavy, an affiliate of industry leader Hyundai Heavy Industries Co.

NYK Fixes Newbuild LNG Carrier with Edison

Japanese shipping and logistics giant Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) has signed a contract with Edison SPA, a Milan-based energy company, to charter out a newly built liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier for up to 20 years, including optional extension periods.The vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2022 from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. The newly built LNG carrier will be propelled by WinGD-manufactured, dual-fuel slow-speed diesel engines.Dual-fuel slow-speed diesel engines are two stroke large bore slow-speed diesel engines able to operate on marine gas oil or boil off gas stored as liquid at cryogenic temperatures.The carrier will also feature an Air Liquide–manufactured Turbo-Brayton refrigeration system that can tap surplus boil-off gas.

TOP Ships, an international owner and operator of modern, fuel efficient “ECO” tanker vessels currently focusing on the transportation of crude oil and petroleum products, announced that it has concluded Financing Agreements with a major Chinese leasing company, via sale and leaseback transactions of up to $92.5 million for its Suezmax newbuilding vessels with hull numbers 874 and 875, currently under construction at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. in South Korea. The company also announced that it has increased the maximum borrowing capacity of the Family Trading Credit Facility to $25.0 million and that it has drawn down an additional $5.0 million from the Company’s outstanding loan facilities.

Euronav Secures Loan for Four Ice-class Suezmaxes

Rosneft, Hyundai Samho Strengthen Technological Cooperation

Rosneft and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (HSHI) signed an agreement under which the South Korean company will provide technical support in the design and construction of Aframax class vessels at the Zvezda shipyard in Bolshoy Kamen. The agreement is a legally binding document. The document was signed as a part of the development of the agreement, under which a joint venture "Zvezda-Hyundai" was established  in May 2017 between Shipbuilding Complex Zvezda and HSHI in the field of engineering and project management. Under the agreement, HSHI provides a list of technical support for the joint venture   forthe design and construction of Aframax type tankers, including those using capable of running on natural gas.

Bahri Signs $350 mln Islamic Finance Deal for Oil Tankers

National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri), the exclusive oil-shipper for Saudi Aramco, said on Wednesday it had signed a $350 million Islamic 10-year financing deal to pay for the building of five oil tankers. The 10-year murahaba financing was arranged by Standard Chartered, which also contributed to the deal along with Arab National Bank and National Bank of Abu Dhabi, it said. A murabaha is a cost-plus-profit arrangement which complies with Islamic finance standards. The tankers were previously ordered from South Korea's Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Two VLCCs Delivered to Gener8 Maritime

Gener8 Maritime, Inc., a U.S.-based provider of international seaborne crude oil transportation services, announced that it took delivery of two very large crude carriers (VLCC).   The Gener8 Perseus was delivered September 9, 2016 from Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., and the Gener8 Oceanus on September 12, 2016 from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. Upon delivery, both tankers entered Navig8 Group's VL8 Pool.   The two new tankers represent vessels 14 and 15 of 21 "ECO" VLCCs ordered for the Gener8 Maritime fleet. The shipper has on order four more VLCCs anticipated for delivery in 2016 and two for 2017.

The Chinese giant Cosco Shipping  has made the inaugural transit on Sunday June 26, 2016  through the expanded Panama Canal expansion project , event appreciated by thousands of people in Agua Clara lock province of Colon. Spectators watch as the Neopanamax cargo ship, Cosco Shipping Panama, makes its way through the new Agua Clara locks, part of the Panama Canal expansion project, near the port city of Colon, Panama. The container vessel had set sail from the Greek Port of Piraeus today on its way to Panama to make history. The ship carrying more than 9,000 containers entered the newly expanded locks that will double the Panama Canal's capacity in a multibillion-dollar bet on a bright economic future despite tough times for international shipping.

Gener8 Maritime, Inc., a U.S.-based provider of international seaborne crude oil transportation services, has taken delivery of the ECO VLCC the Gener8 Constantine on June 27, 2016 from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd.   The Gener8 Constantine represents the 11th of 21 ECO VLCCs expected to be delivered into Gener8 Maritime's fleet.   Upon delivery, the Gener8 Constantine entered Navig8 Group's VL8 Pool.
