Shipbuilder Meyer Turku reported a net profit of 25 million euros ($27.4 million), or 3.2 percent of revenue, in 2016, rising from 15 million euros ($16.5 million) in 2015.

The Finish shipyard, which specializes in cruise ship and large passenger vessels, said it has seen been on a “good and economically sustainable path” since the Meyer family took ownership in 2014.

Revenues rose 33 percent last year from 594 million euros ($651.5 million) in 2015 to 792 million euros ($868.7 million) in 2016.

“We are well on our growth path and these reasonable profits give us an opportunity to further invest into the shipyard and also to build up an even stronger shipbuilding team with further recruitments,” Meyer Turku CEO Jan Meyer commented.

The shipyard’s current order book reaches into 2024.
