Resolve Marine Group and T&T Bisso have announced their coalition for Marine Firefighting services in U.S. waters. This agreement combines both companies’ extensive firefighting infrastructure to produce overlapping coverage and higher volume firefighting capacity throughout the U.S. This coalition was crafted specifically to help tank vessel operators fully comply with the new Oil Pollution Act of 1990 regulations that will be effective on February 22, 2011. The regulations require that all tanker and tank barge owners operating in U.S.

Resolve Marine Group, the marine salvage and firefighting company, announced that they will forego charging their OPA-90 clients retainer fees through 2011. While other salvage and marine firefighting companies have announced per vessel fees of $250 or $500 per year, Resolve guarantees their policy of “no retainer or administrative fees through 2011”. Captain Farhat Imam, Chief Operating Officer at Resolve said, “We expect the OPA-90 response business sector to stabilize before we make any decision regarding 2012 fees. The USCG OPA-90 regulations finalized requirements for salvage and marine fighting response (SMFF) on December 31, 2008. February 22, 2011 is the deadline for most Vessel Response Plans to include a SMFF section with a named and contracted primary responder.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, July 27, 2010 -  Resolve Marine Group and Five Oceans Salvage presented the new United States’ OPA-90 regulations governing all tank vessels entering U.S. waters, on July 14, 2010 in Athens, Greece. Salvage crews from international salvage company Resolve Marine Group, Inc. have completed recovery work (11/15/2009) on the Black Rose, an iron ore carrying vessel which sank two months ago in the Bay of Bengal, India. Initially awarding the job to Resolve, the Paradip Port Trust has since issued Resolve a certificate of completion stating that, following the removal of well over 900 tonnes of contaminated fuel oil, the vessel has been cleared to their satisfaction. Salvage crews from international salvage company Resolve Marine Group, Inc. have begun recovery work on the iron ore carrying vessel Black Rose which sank last month in the Bay of Bengal, India. Resolve’s team was awarded the tender by the Paradip Port Trust and will be pumping some 925 tonnes of fuel oil and 50 tonnes of diesel oil, as reported by officials, from the stricken ship which sank with the loss of one life 5km off the Paradip coastline on September 9.
