A&P Falmouth has been granted the multi-million dollar contract to refit the 33,257-dwt Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Brambleleaf, which is due to arrive in the yard on April 29 for 61 days.
Owned by the Ministry of Defence
, the vessel will undergo a general refit and maintenance repairs while in dry dock including blasting and painting of external hull and decks, main engine overhaul, survey work on tanks, machinery
and cargo systems
, accommodation refurbishment and maintenance and overhaul of pipelines, systems and machinery.
A&P Falmouth also completed a similar refit on the RFA Brambleleaf's sister vessel the RFA Orangeleaf in 2001, which was very successfully completed on time and on budget.
