iCargo Launches EU-Funded Logistics Program

QinetiQ Appoints Mellors CFO

QinetiQ Group announced the appointment of David Mellors as Chief Financial Officer. It is anticipated that David will take up his new role with effect from the end of August 2008 when he will also join the QinetiQ Board as an Executive Director. David, 39, joins from Logica PLC, the IT and business services group where he is the Deputy CFO. Previously he was the CFO of Logica’s International division covering operations in North America, Australia, Middle East and Asia and prior to that the Group Financial Controller.

Inmarsat Awards GBP 6M Deal to Logica

Logica, the global solutions company, announced it has secured a GBP 6m contract to help develop future higher bandwidth satellite communications for global mobile satellite communications provider, Inmarsat Limited. This contract forms part of an over GBP 30 million programme with Thrane & Thrane, a leader in the market for satellite communications equipment, to build the satellite interface and other equipment that will allow Inmarsat's Broadband Global Area Network (B-GAN) services due for launch during 2004 to be transmitted to and from terrestrial networks. Currently Inmarsat operates its Global Area Network (GAN) service which supports data speeds of up to 64 kbit/s, almost seven times faster than speeds offered by current GSM networks.

Royal P&O Nedlloyd Appoints CFO

Following the completion on April 16 of the listing of Royal P&O Nedlloyd on the Euronext stock market in Amsterdam, the company nominated David Robbie (40) as Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Royal P&O Nedlloyd. It will be proposed that the AGM will appoint Mr Robbie on May 6, with his appointment taking effect from May 10. Robbie was CFO of CMG plc until January 2003, where he was instrumental in delivering the merger of Logica and CMG. Before this, he was at Invensys plc (and formerly BTR plc), where he was Vice President, Corporate Finance. "I am pleased to be joining Royal P&O Nedlloyd at such an interesting point following its successful listing on 16 April. Robbie qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG and is a graduate of St Andrews University.
