Curtin Maritime Names Huit VP of Dredging

Marine transportation and construction services company Curtin Maritime announced John Huit has joined the company as vice president of dredging, responsible for leading the company’s dredging operations, managing the fleet of dredging vessels.Huit brings over 25 years of experience in the maritime construction industry to Curtin Maritime, having spent the last eight years as a senior project manager at Great Lakes Dock & Dredge after holding several management roles with Parsons Water & Infrastructure, Weeks Marine, and Durocher Dock & Dredge.

Havfram Subsea Reclaims Ocean Installer Name after Offshore Wind Business Sold

Offshore construction company Havfram Subsea said Thursday it was taking back its Ocean Installer name.The company's subsea business was known as Ocean Installer from the company's inception in 2011, with the 2020 name change reflecting its diversification into the offshore wind industry. The relaunch follows last year's announcement of the sale of Havfram's wind business lines. "Ocean Installer's operations focus on all aspects of offshore marine construction, encompassing both the traditional oil and gas and emerging renewables markets.

MARAD Designates Four New Marine Highway Projects

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (MARAD) today announced the immediate designation of four new Marine Highway Projects as part of the America’s Marine Highway Program (AMHP). Projects in North Carolina, Alaska, and Puerto Rico will receive these designations. They can now apply for record levels of funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to help address supply chain challenges.A Marine Highway Project is a planned service, or expansion of an existing service, on a designated Marine Highway Route.

Nel, Kvaerner Pact on Green Hydrogen

Norwegian renewable energy firm Nel ASA has entered into a strategic agreement with the compatriot  engineering and construction services company Kværner to collaborate on green hydrogen projects and the standardization of solutions for large scale hydrogen production plants.In the agreement, the companies have identified a range of projects on which to collaborate on moving forward.
