Shell in Talks to Sell $1.3 Bln of Gulf Coast Assets

Royal Dutch Shell Plc is in talks to sell its assets in a Gulf of Mexico oilfield to Focus Oil to pay for its takeover of BG Group Plc, Bloomberg reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with matter.The deal could value Shell's stake in the Caesar Tonga field at about $1.3 billion, the report said.Shell has a 22.5 percent working interest in Caesar Tonga, with the rest owned by companies including Anadarko Petroleum Corp, Equinor ASA and Chevron Corp, Bloomberg said, citing company filings.Shell and Focus Oil did not immediately respond to a request for comment.(Reporting by Sathvik N in B

Keppel, BG Group JV to supply LNG Bunkers in Singapore

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through its wholly-owned subsidiary KS Investments Pte Ltd (KSI), and BG Group plc (BG Group) have been selected to supply Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunker to vessels in the Port of Singapore. The joint bid submitted by Keppel O&M and BG Group for the LNG bunker supplier licence is one of the two top bids selected by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). The awarding of the licence is in line with the Port of Singapore's plans to launch the LNG Bunkering Pilot Programme in 2017. Keppel O&M and BG Group will work on forming a 50/50 joint venture to deliver an end-to-end bunkering solution using LNG sourced from BG Group's diversified LNG portfolio and leveraging Keppel O&M's expertise in LNG vessel servicing.

GasLog Posts Good Results

GasLog Partners LP, an international owner and operator of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers,  increased quarterly cash distribution by 10% to $0.478 per unit for the third quarter of 2015, equivalent to $1.912 per unit on an annual basis. It has acquired three LNG carriers from GasLog Ltd. for $483.0 million ($480.0 million net of working capital) with attached multi-year charters to a subsidiary of BG Group plc. Andrew Orekar, Chief Executive Officer, commented: “GasLog Partners’ operating and financial performance this quarter has been strong. We achieved our highest ever quarterly results following the second successful drop-down acquisition since our initial public offering (“IPO”).

BG Ships First LNG from QCLNG, Australia

BG Group plc today announces it has started up and loaded its first LNG from the second production train at the Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) facility in Australia. The first LNG from Train 2 set sail on the Maran Gas Posidonia. At plateau production, expected mid-2016, both trains at QCLNG will be producing enough LNG to load ten vessels per month combined, exporting around eight million tonnes per year. Since production from the first train commenced in December 2014, 27 cargoes have been shipped. BG Group began commercial operations in May 2015, when control of Train 1 formally transferred to QGC, BG Group’s Australian subsidiary, from the constructor Bechtel Australia. Train 2 commercial operations will begin once a similar commissioning process has been completed.

KNOT Orders New Tanker for Charter with BG Group

Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers AS (KNOT) has concluded a time-charter contract with Brazil Shipping 1 Limited, a subsidiary of the U.K. energy supplier BG GROUP PLC. This contract is for a maximum 20-year period starting from the second quarter of 2017 and follows the time-charter contracts that were concluded in September 2014 for two shuttle tankers. The new contract aims to use a 158,000 DWT Suezmax tankers built by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. and equipped with enhanced dynamic-positioning systems to shuttle crude oil processed in waters off Brazil. Upon delivery, expected to be in mid-2017, the vessel will commence operations under a time charter with BG (this will have a minimum term of 5 years).

ConocoPhillips Weighs Sale of North Sea Assets in Norway

ConocoPhillips Inc is weighing sale of some of its North Sea assets in Norway which may fetch as much as $1 billion, Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The largest independent producer of oil and natural gas may sell assets that are operated by others including stakes in the Aasta Hansteen, Alvheim and Grane fields, Bloomberg said, citing the sources. ConocoPhillips said it does not comment on ongoing business development or commercial activities. GasLog Acquires 2 BG Carriers

GasLog Ltd. completed the acquisition of two LNG carriers from Methane Services Limited, a subsidiary of BG Group plc, which was previously announced on December 22, 2014. This transaction completes the third acquisition of ships from BG by GasLog in the last twelve months, with eight vessels acquired in total. The two ships subject to today’s announcement will be chartered back to MSL for nine and eleven year initial terms. MSL has options to extend the term of the time charters for each vessel for three or five years at its election. GasLog Post 4Q 2014 Results

GasLog Ltd. and its subsidiaries an international owner, operator and manager of liquefied natural gas carriers, today reported its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended December 31, 2014. •         Agreement to acquire two additional LNG carriers from a subsidiary of BG Group plc (“BG Group”) for $460.0 million that will be chartered back to the same subsidiary of BG Group with average charters of 10 years, adding $590 million to our contracted revenue. •        16% increase in quarterly distribution from GasLog Partners LP (“GasLog Partners”) which exceeds the first Incentive Distribution Right (“IDR”) threshold, resulting in higher quarterly distributions to GasLog by $0.6 million.

Lund to Start Earlier as BG Group Chief

BG Group plc informed today that Helge Lund will join the Company as Chief Executive and an Executive Director with effect from February 9, 2015.  This is ahead of the previously announced start date of March 2, 2015. Lund’s start date has been brought forward following agreement last week from his former employer to release him from his contractual commitments. Andrew Gould, who has been serving as interim Executive Chairman of BG Group since April 2014, will return to his role as Non-Executive Chairman with effect from February 9, 2015.

BG Group to Delay LNG Terminal on Canada's Pacific Coast

British oil and gas producer BG Group Plc will delay until the next decade a proposed liquefied natural gas export terminal on Canada's Pacific coast, the Wall Street Journal reported, quoting the head of the company's Canadian unit. "We'd always said (construction would begin) as early as 2016, but we now recognize it'll likely be later, with commercial operations likely beginning early in the next decade," BG Canada President Madeline Whitaker said in an interview with the Journal. Kim Blomley, a spokesman for BG Group, said he could not immediately confirm if the project had slipped into the next decade, but he noted comments by interim Executive Chairman Andrew Gould during a post-earnings conference call on Tuesday.

Sir Frank Chapman Appointed Golar's Chairman

Golar LNG Limited announced that with effect from September 19, 2014, Sir Frank Joseph Chapman has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Company and will act as the Company's Chairman. Sir Frank Chapman has worked 40 years in the oil and gas industry culminating in a twelve-year period as Chief Executive of BG Group plc. Under Sir Frank's leadership, BG Group grew from the modest UK-based Exploration and Production interests of the old British Gas into an international integrated oil and gas major. Operating profits grew from some $50 million in 1996 to more than $8 billion in 2012. Sir Frank is currently a non-executive director of Rolls-Royce plc and chairman of their safety and ethics committee.

GasLog Ltd. Completion of the initial public offering (“IPO”) of GasLog Partners LP (“GasLog Partners” or the “Partnership”) on May 12, 2014, raising gross proceeds of approximately $203 million. Completed the acquisition of six on-the-water vessels from a subsidiary of BG Group plc (“BG Group”) for $936 million, with time charters back for an average of 6 years. Successfully completed GasLog’s second follow-on equity offering, raising approximately $110 million (net of expenses). GasLog Completes Acquisition of 3 LNG Carriers from BG Group

GasLog Ltd. announced that it successfully completed the acquisition of three LNG carriers from an affiliate of BG Group plc (“BG”), which was previously announced on April 10, 2014. This completes the second acquisition of ships from BG by GasLog in 2014. The acquisition of the first three vessels was announced in January and completed in April. The three ships subject to today’s announcement will be chartered back to BG for six-year initial terms on average. The time charters for the three vessels are staggered with one for 5.5 years, one for 6 years and one for 6.5 years, so that the three vessels will not redeliver at the same time. BG has options to extend the term of the time charters for two of the ships for a period of either three or five years at its election.

BG's Singapore Move Seen Cutting Big UK Tax Bill

When BG Group Plc announced last week it was shifting the headquarters of its oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) trading operation to Singapore from Britain, it said the aim was to get closer to its customers. Analysts and consultants agreed that the growing importance of Japanese and Korean utilities in the LNG market meant the move would have clear logistical and commercial benefits. But they also said another motivation was likely at play: tax. "Tax is always a factor," said Bob Piller, a Swiss-based energy trading consultant who previously worked for commodities giant Vitol.

GasLog Ltd. orders two new 174,000 cbm Tri-Fuel Diesel Electric LNG carriers from Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. The vessels are expected to be delivered in Q1 and Q2 2016, respectively, and upon delivery will commence firm ten-year charters with a subsidiary of BG Group plc. Following the successful delivery of the GasLog Shanghai into a BG Group charter on January 29, 2013, GasLog now has a twelve-ship fully owned fleet, of which three ships have been delivered and are on charter and nine ships are either under construction or to be constructed through Q2 2016.

North Sea Rigs Evacuated on Explosion Risk

Total SA’s Elgin platform leaked gas for a third day in the U.K. North Sea, and neighboring rigs were evacuated to guard against the risk of an explosion. The platform was evacuated and production halted after a “well control problem” caused a leak on March 25. Total has flown in outside experts to help stem the flow of fuel, which prompted Royal Dutch Shell Plc. to move staff from its neighboring Shearwater field. The Elgin and Franklin fields, which send oil and gas through the platform, supply about 15 percent of Forties crude, the biggest component of Dated Brent used to price more than half of the world’s oil. Teekay Offshore Signs Brazil Shuttle Tanker Contract

Teekay Offshore GP L.L.C., the general partner of Teekay Offshore Partners L.P. BG to Invest $15B in Australian LNG Project

According to a report from Bloomberg, BG Group Plc, the U.K.’s third largest oil and gas producer, said it will invest $15b in the Curtis liquefied natural gas project in Australia over the next four years, its single biggest investment. Oil Discovery in Brazil

A huge offshore oil discovery could raise Brazil's petroleum reserves by a whopping 40 percent and boost this country into the ranks of the world's major exporters, officials said according to an AP report. The government-run oil company Petroleo Brasileiro SA, or Petrobras, said the new "ultra-deep" Tupi field could hold as much as 8 billion barrels of recoverable light crude, sending Petrobras shares soaring and prompting predictions that Brazil could join the world's "top 10" oil producers. Petrobras says the Tupi field, off Brazil's southeastern Atlantic coast, has between 5 billion and 8 billion barrels -- equivalent to 40 percent of all the oil ever discovered in Brazil.
