Bristow Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Ørsted Hires NHV for Borssele Offshore Wind Farm

The Belgium-based NHV group, which is specialized in B-to-B helicopter services and has a strong geographic presence in Europe and Western Africa, said that it has signed new contract with Ørsted to provide helicopter services in support of the Borssele 1+2 Offshore Wind farm.The oil and gas industry focused helicopter services provider said that the operations are expected to start in May 2020. Flights will depart from NHV’s base in Zeeland to the Borssele Wind Farm, located 23 kilometres from Westkapelle in front of the Dutch coast.NHV will support this project utilizing the H145 aircraft, the latest Airbus Helicopter 4-tonne-class twin-engine rotorcraft.

Bristow Commences New Contract in Barents Sea

Bristow Norway AS is commencing a previously announced five-year contract today (September 1, 2018), from its Hammerfest base. Getting Offshore Fast: New Helicopter Market Forecast

Douglas-Westwood (DW) forecasts $24 billion in expenditure on offshore helicopter services between 2014 and 2018, a 57% increase in comparison to the preceding five-year period. Western Europe will continue to account for the largest share of global expenditure, driven by both the extensive North Sea infrastructure and the preference towards using large helicopters. Although Western Europe will continue to underpin the market over the forecast period, DW expect faster growth rates in Africa, Asia, Australasia and Latin America. A preference for local providers in some of these markets means that there are many regional specialists. As a consequence, the major helicopter operators have lower levels of participa- tion in these regions, with the notable exceptions of Brazil and Australia.

Helicopter Operators Set for Take-off as Oil Drilling Picks Up

A pickup in offshore drilling is swelling the orderbooks of the handful of helicopter operators that shuttle oil workers to and from remote rigs. Their stock prices, depressed after Big Oil's recent spending cuts, could also be readying for take-off. Bristow Group Inc plans to invest $1 billion this year to procure just some of the 300 new helicopters that Barclays estimates will be needed by the oil and gas industry over the next five years. SEACOR SMIT Announces 3Q Results

SEACOR SMIT Inc. announced net earnings for the third quarter ended September 30, 2003 of $2.9 million, or $0.15 per diluted share, on operating revenues of $103.2 million. For the nine months ended September 30, 2003, net earnings were $13.7 million, or $0.71 per diluted share, on operating revenues of $305.3 million. For the third quarter ended September 30, 2002, net earnings were $21.3 million, or $1.02 per diluted share, on operating revenues of $102.1 million. For the nine months ended September 30, 2002, net earnings were $44.9 million, or $2.16 per diluted share, on operating revenues of $303.5 million. For the quarter ended June 30, 2003, net earnings were $6.4 million, or $0.33 per diluted share, on operating revenues of $105.2 million.

SEACOR and Seabulk Announce Merger Agreement

Seabulk International, Inc. and SEACOR Holdings Inc. announced that they have signed a definitive merger agreement. The Boards of Directors of both companies have unanimously approved the transaction. Under the terms of the merger agreement, Seabulk's stockholders will, subject to limited adjustments, receive 0.2694 of a share of SEACOR common stock plus cash of $4.00 for each issued and outstanding share of Seabulk common stock, which represents a 29% premium over Seabulk's closing share price on March 16, 2005 (based on SEACOR's closing share price of such date). In certain circumstances, the portion of the merger consideration payable in cash may be reduced and shares of SEACOR common stock, having a value on the closing date equal to the cash reduction, may be substituted therefor.

Investigation on the loss of Bourbon Dolphin

A maritime inquiry into the loss of the Norwegian supply vessel Bourbon Dolphin, which capsized and sank off Shetland with the loss of eight lives, is due to open at a Norwegian court. Smit International has issued a statement about the sinking of the Bourbon Dolphin, which capsized on April 12th whilst performing offshore services for the drill platform Transocean Rather. Subsequently, SMIT Salvage was contracted by Bourbon Offshore Norway AS, to render salvage services to Bourbon Dolphin. The mobilization of the necessary salvage personnel, craft and equipment started immediately. A salvage team of seven members was flown to the Shetland Islands and the anchor handling tug Zeus, equipped with a diving spread and salvage equipment departed to the casualty from Den Helder, the Netherlands.
