Strategic Shift: POSH Focuses on Floating Wind, Divests Taiwan-based JV

PACC Offshore Services Holdings (“POSH”), a Singapore-based offshore marine services provider, said Friday it would be will be shifting its push into renewables away from operational support in the fixed wind market into the development of the fast-growing floating wind market.As such, the company said it had has divested its Taiwan-based POSH Kerry Renewables Joint Venture (“JV”). OFCO Buys Seven Offshore Support Vessels

Offshore Support and Logistics Services Company (OFCO – Offshore International), the integrated maritime logistics service provider that is jointly owned by Allianz Marine & Logistics Services (AMLS) and SAFEEN, Abu Dhabi Ports’ marine services arm, announced it has acquired seven offshore support vessels, including four anchor handling tugs, a 65-meter landing craft, as well as a supply ship and multipurpose safety standby vessel.Officially launched in January 2021, OFCO provides onshore and offshore integrated logistics solutions, and subsea services.

POSH Offshore Vessel for Cargo Ship Crews Calling in Singapore

Offshore marine services provider PACC Offshore Services Holdings' (POSH) accommodation vessel has been designated by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (“MPA”) to support crew changes for cargo ships calling in Singapore.To date, MPA has approved about 6,000 crew changes for cargo ships since 27 March 2020. For crew change applications made from 19 June 2020, MPA has designated two facilities - including POSH's accommodation unit - to accommodate crew who are unable to transfer directly to his/her vessel or flight and require a temporary rest area of up to 48 hours.

Singapore Firms Select ABS Systems

Singapore-based offshore marine services provider PACC Offshore Services Holdings Ltd (POSH) and the maritime logistics solutions provider Pacific Carriers Limited (PCL) have selected ABS Nautical Systems  (NS) fleet management software to support their digitalization strategy.Both PCL and POSH are part of Kuok Singapore Limited (KSL) Maritime Group of companies, with competencies extending across offshore marine services, commercial shipping and marine engineering. Both POSH and PCL operate a combined fleet of 245 vessels including tankers, bulkers as well as offshore support vessels.The deal is for multiple NS modules to support the digitalization of workflows including fleet maintenance, purchasing and compliance.

Bumi Armada Profit Up 28.5% in Q1

Malaysia's offshore oilfield services firm Bumi Armada announced that its first-quarter net profit jumped 28.5% on-year, mainly thanks to joint ventures, lower cost of sales, and lower distribution costs.Net profit for the January-March period climbed to 62.21 million ringgit ($14.86 million), compared with a 48.42 million in the same quarter a year ago, said a stock exchange announcement.However, its revenue fell by 18.1% to RM491.61mil from RM600.34mil a year ago. On March 4th at Damen Shipyards Singapore, Seaways International took delivery of two Damen Fast Crew Suppliers (FCS) 2206. The Dubai-headquartered company has previously operated a Damen FCS 3307. Seaways International specializes in offshore marine services and will use the new vessels to transport crew to offshore energy locations in West Africa.Damen signed the contract with Seaways International on May 9, 2018. Malaysia-based international offshore energy facilities and services provider Bumi Armada Berhad has announced the resignation of Encik Shaharul Rezza bin Hassan, Executive Director and Head of Offshore Marine Services (OMS) of Bumi Armada Berhad. Bumi Armada Bags Additional Contract from Lukoil

Bumi Armada Bhd’s wholly-owned unit, Bumi Armada Caspian LLC, has signed a supplementary agreement worth RM576 million (USD 134 million) with Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft LLC (Lukoil) for an additional engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) scope of work in Russia. Back in December 2013, Bumi Armada had bagged a 10-year, US$262 million contract from Russia’s Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft Ltd. Bumi Armada said the additional scope will involve BAC’s marine spread to lay subsea pipelines and undertake post trenching and back-filling works on sections of the Filanovsky field in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea. BOURBON to Install Mooring for Floating Wind Turbine

French offshore marine services company BOURBON said it has been awarded a contract for the mooring installation of the first floating wind turbine in France at the experimental test site of SEM-REV managed by Ecole Centrale de Nantes (ECN), in the context of European project FLOATGEN. The mooring installation will take place during summer 2017 based on a method jointly established by BOURBON and Ideol’s engineering teams in collaboration with the Ecole Centrale de Nantes. The wind turbine will be installed at the SEM-REV site near Le Croisic, France, by the end of the year. BOURBON’s Subsea Services team will be responsible for the project management, mooring installation and engineering.

Investment Cuts Slow Rebound for Offshore Oil Services -Bourbon

French oil services company Bourbon said on Thursday that any rebound in oil and gas prices will take a while to reach companies in the offshore marine sector because of deep cuts in investments during the prolonged oil downturn. Bourbon, whose fleet of about 513 vessels provides offshore services for oil and gas companies, said its net loss in the first half widened to 104.3 million euros ($117 million) compared with a net loss of 19.2 million in the same period a year ago. Adjusted revenues fell 21 percent to 599.2 million compared with the first half of 2015, the company said.

POSH Bags Shell FLNG Contract

Singapore’s offshore marine services provider PACC Offshore Services Holdings Ltd. (POSH) has been awarded a contract to support Shell’s Prelude floating liquefied natural gas facility using its semi-submersible accommodation vessel the “POSH Arcadia”. The 750-pax POSH Arcadia will be deployed to provide accommodation support for the hook-up and commissioning phase of the Shell Prelude FLNG Project in the Browse Basin, off the north-west coast of Western Australia. This is POSH’s second contract for the Prelude FLNG Project. In January 2016, the POSH Terasea joint venture, comprising POSH and Terasea Pte. Ltd., was appointed to provide towage and positioning services for the facility.
