UK Orders Its Ports to Block All Russian-linked Ships

Culina Group to Set Base at Peel Group's Port Salford

Food and drink logistics giant, Culina Group, has been announced as the first major tenant at the new National Import Centre being developed by the Peel Group, as part of its multi-million pound Port Salford development (located approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Manchester City Centre in the UK). Culina Group will take occupation of the first warehouse distribution unit to be built on the Port Salford site - the UK’s first tri-modal inland port facility and Distribution Park, accessible by rail, road and short sea-shipping. The property comprises 26,022 sq. m. (280,000 sq. ft.) of accommodation, including ancillary offices, service yard and parking.

Seacor Smit To Acquire Boston Putford

Seacor Smit has signed a letter of intent to acquire all of the issued share capital of Putford Enterprises Ltd. and associated companies. Boston Putford’s standby safety vessels (SBSV), certain joint venture interest and vessels, and fixed assets will be acquired for approximately $30 million. The company’s SBSV fleet, including vessels held in joint ventures but excluding vessels managed for third parties, consists approximately of 18 vessels operating primarily in the southern U.K. sector of the North Seas. “Boston Putford is the market leader in the SBSV market in the southern North Sea with safety and multi-role vessels working for most of the field operators,” said Charles Fabrikant, Seacor’s Chairman and CEO.
