Landay Joins Gibbs & Cox Board of Directors

Naval architecture and marine engineering firm Gibbs & Cox, Inc. said that William E. "Bill" Landay III, President of W.E. LANDAY Consulting LLC, has been elected to its Board of Directors effective June 20, 2017. "[VADM Landay’s] expertise in the areas of foreign military sales, DoD acquisition, and science and technology programs will be a tremendous addition to the future growth of Gibbs & Cox," said President and Chief Executive Chris Deegan. Vice Admiral Landay retired in 2013 after more than 35 years of Naval service. His final assignment was as Director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) where he was in charge of the $400 billion DoD program responsible for the sale of equipment, defense technologies, training and other services to foreign governments.

Landay Named SAFE Boats’ Board Director

SAFE Boats International announced that Retired Vice Admiral William E. “Bill” Landay III has been appointed as a Director of the Board at SAFE Boats International. Vice Admiral Landay retired in 2013 after more than 35 years of naval service. His final assignment was as Director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) from August 2010 until September 2013. DSCA oversees the U.S. Government's Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program and is responsible for the sale of arms, defense technologies, training and other services to foreign governments.

Northrop Grumman Appoints Waldman

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) announced that Mitchell "Mitch" B. Waldman has been named to the position of vice president, government and customer relations at its Shipbuilding sector. In his new role, Waldman is responsible for the development and management of the sector's government and customer affairs programs and is directly involved and engaged in supporting company business objectives. He will report to Mike Petters, corporate vice president and president, Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding.

Seigal Appointed VP at Zodiak

Zodiac of North America, Inc., manufacturer of military and commercial inflatable boats and rigid-hull inflatable boats (RIBs), has hired Commander (Ret.) Steve Seigel to lead their military and professional business unit. Seigel’s Naval career includes both enlisted and commissioned service in multiple SEAL and Underwater Demolition Teams, and the US Special Operations Command. Navy Lab Exec Retires

Executive Director James A. Fein will retire from Naval Surface Warfare Center's Carderock Division in Bethesda, Md., completing 34 years of service. The naval architect started in 1969 at what was then the David Taylor Research Center. His previous position was that of Director, Hydrodynamics Group, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) where he served as the senior technical advisor to the Navy for hydrodynamics issues related to ships, submarines and undersea weapons. Over the years, he worked for the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research and Advanced Technology, the Office of Naval Research (ONR), and the Carderock Division's parent command, NAVSEA. He was also a visiting professor at the Defense Systems Management College.
