SevenCs has released a new version of the chart validation tool, 7Cs Analyzer. 7Cs Analyzer Version 4.2. comes with new features to make chart validation more flexible and customizable.Shape File ExportMost chart production tools have a built-in shape file reader. Therefore, we have included a new module in Version 4.2. It gives users the opportunity to save the validation log file in ESRI  shape file format. The shape files contain the features that require attention as well as the associated validation messages.

Bollinger Shipyards is relying on ShipConstructor 3D marine production software to build the U.S. Coast Guard’s Sentinel Class Fast Response Cutters (FRC). The Sentinel Class is a new generation of USCG patrol boat that is a replacement for the Island Class Cutters Bollinger built almost a quarter century ago. The contract for up to 34 vessels is expected to last ten years. These cutters are based on a Damen 4708 hull form modified by Bollinger using ShipConstructor to meet the US Coast Guard’s specific requirements.

The USS America (LHA 6), designed with ShipConstructor Software, will be the most technologically advanced amphibious warship to date according to U.S. Navy Capt. Robert Howell, Executive Officer and Director of Contracts, Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Gulf Coast. Howell made this observation at the recent keel laying ceremony for the ship in Pascagoula. This innovative vessel was designed by Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding Gulf Coast using ShipConstructor, a detail design and production software program for shipbuilding and offshore structures.

Autoship Systems Corporation (ASC) of Vancouver, Canada is pleased to announce a new installation of its naval architecture and ship production software to a shipyard client in the Middle East. HEISCO (Heavy Engineering Industries & Shipbuilding Co.) has chosen ‘The AutoSHIP WORKS Package’ which will allow them to take a new project through the complete design spiral - from hull lines right through to nested parts - in a shorter timeframe. The Marine division of HEISCO was established in 1974 (as Kuwait Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Co.) to meet the needs of the shipping and maritime industry in the Northern Arabian Gulf. Over the years the Marine division has diversified its initial core business activities to meet requests for new engineering projects.

Genoa Design International has completed the structural production work pack for an aluminum-built Canadian Coast Guard Buoy-tending vessel. Genoa Design's 3-D modeling approach used in the structural production phase of the project led to significant efficiencies for the vessel's builder, C&W Industrial Fabrication and Marine Equipment Ltd., located in Bay Bulls, Newfoundland. After initial team planning, the detail designers and drafters at Genoa Design used ShipConstructor production software to create a 3-D model of the Coast Guard vessel. The combination of C&W's engineering staff along with Genoa's off-site professional expertise and sophisticated software resulted in several benefits and overall, the process integrated well with C&W's progressive approach to lean manufacturing.

Aker Yards Germany and Atlantec Enterprise Solutions announce the implementation of Topgallant Plate Production software at the Aker shipyards in Wismar and Warnemunde. The Aker Topgallant solution integrates production at both shipyards and also provides the yards with long term flexibility in migrating to new versions of CAD and CAM systems with a minimum disruption to their operations. Based on industry standards such as LDAP, STEP, and XML, Topgallant stores information in a neutral format and connects to legacy or new software applications using special adapters. This solution is designed to eliminate process disruptions normally associated with system upgrades or replacements because only the specialized adapter needs to be modified by Atlantec-es.
