SENESCO Announces Contract

The Southeastern New England Shipbuilding Corporation (SENESCO), announced that it signed its largest barge contract to date to build a 332 x 74 ft. double-hulled liquid fuel barge. The contract’s value is in excess of $7 million and creates an immediate opening for twenty new employees, a move that will increase SENESCO’s workforce to just under 200 employees. The contract comes with options for two additional barges that, if exercised, will ensure full employment at SENESCO for the next two years. SENESCO president Robert Jarvis said he expects the company to begin hiring immediately to fill twenty openings and urges anyone interested in applying to contact SENESCO at 401-295-0373.

SENESCO Expands Management Team

Southeastern New England Shipbuilding Corporation (SENESCO) has appointed four new executives in a move prompted by the company’s growth over the past six months. The new executives include the company’s first chief financial officer and other senior level financial and operations staff. Gordon W. Fletcher, appointed as SENESCO’s first CFO, will direct the company’s financial affairs, including overseeing all contracts, developing financial statements, implementing new financial policies and procedures and supervising the accounting department. Fletcher is a CPA who received a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Natal in Durban, South Africa. While in South Africa, he worked as an audit supervisor for KPMG and as a finance manager for a construction general contractor.

Startup Company Aims to Revitalize Economy

Through a series of coincidental meetings, Southeastern New England Shipbuilding Corporation (SENESCO) was formed by seven individuals with different, unique backgrounds. Although only three of the original seven founders are still involved with the company, the focus remains the same. In fact, the young company is expecting its first delivery this autumn. According to Richard Carpenter, president and director of the company, the seven founders joined up during the winter months of 1993 and 1994. SENESCO Names Schuler as New CEO

The Southeastern New England Shipbuilding Company (SENESCO) has appointed Gary C. Schuler, the former President of Stanley-Bostitch, as the company’s CEO. In addition to his new post as CEO, Schuler becomes one of two private investors in SENESCO having made a personal investment in the fast growing company. Robert Jarvis, who has served as President of SENESCO for the past two years, will continue in this position and also serve as the COO. Schuler has had a highly successful career as a senior executive in some of America’s largest corporations and he has also held senior executive posts and ownership positions with smaller companies. Schuler served as President of Bostitch for 10 years between 1980 and 1990, during which time the company’s sales grew from $100 million to $500 million.
