Parat Halvorsen to Install Steamboiler on American Triumph

The American Triumph is American Seafoods most powerful at-sea processor. She also boasts the largest frozen hold capacity of any of their two-level processing vessels.

Parat Halvorsen AS has again signed a contract with the company American Seafoods Company in Seattle to deliver a new steamboiler, this time to their fabric trawler American Triumph. American Seafoods is well known company for its Alaskan Bearing sea operation, where also the trawler Triumph is normally operating. The vertical steam boiler of Parat Pin Tube MPW type, will have a capacity of 6,000kgs/h and is chosen due to high capacity and small size. U.S. Barge Delivers Combination Deck/Tank Barge

U.S. Barge LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vigor Industrial LLC, this week will deliver a combination Deck and Tank Barge to NorthStar Gas LLC, an Alaskan Petroleum Distributor. The CAUNEQ was christened on April 15, 2011 and will start making deliveries in May to the Yukon, Kuskokwim and Western Alaska Costal Regions. NorthStar Gas and its operating partner, Delta Western, will use this barge to service customers in Western Alaska, stabilizing the transportation costs of fuel in the region.

Ship Explodes 30 Miles off of Alaska

The 180-ft. fishing vessel Galaxy exploded and erupted into flames 30 miles southwest of St. Paul Island, Alaska Sunday afternoon forcing 20 of its 26 crewmembers to abandon ship. Six others became stranded on the burning ship before a Coast Guard HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew hoisted four of them to safety. There is one confirmed dead with five fishermen reported in critical condition and two remained missing as of 9 a.m. HST. Crews aboard the Good Samaritan fishing vessels Blue Pacific, Glacier Bay and Clipper Express assisted in the rescue of 20 Galaxy crewmen. Responding to the scene to help with the search and rescue of the survivors is the Honolulu based Coast Guard Cutter Jarvis.
